It was always you

We met in high school our freshmen year at Spokane Valley Tech, but not until the end of senior year, when Aidan asked Sydney to prom, did our friendship truly begin. That friendship grew for the next 6 months, talking and texting every single day, before that best friendship turned to romance in December 2022. We have dated long distance ever since in Montana, where Sydney attended Carroll College in Helena, and where Aidan currently attends Montana Tech in Butte.

On December 7, 2024, we met up at our usual meet-up spot in Boulder, Montana, which is exactly halfway between Butte and Helena, for a little hike. At a beautiful lookout spot, Aidan completely surprised Sydney with some sweet sentiments, a marriage proposal, and a ring. It was a spontaneous moment that we will always remember!

Sydney graduated from Carroll College in May 2025 with a degree in anthrozoology (you guessed it ... she LOVES animals!). Aidan has one year left before graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from Montana Tech in Butte, Montana, so that's where we'll be living during our first year of marriage. Sydney will work, Aidan will study, and we will (finally) be together!
