FAQs

If we can answer any other questions, please reach out to us at arnc.wedding@gmail.com--we are happy to help, and can't wait to see you!
Question

Wait! Are you already married?!

Answer

We eloped and were civilly married at the courthouse on August 7, but we can't wait to share our vows with one another in front of all those who mean the most to us and can be with us here in the States, and to share our vows a third time with all those we love who will be able to join us at a future date in Argentina.

Question

What are people planning to wear?

Answer

We invite men to wear suits if they have them and are comfortable in a suit. For ladies who enjoy wearing long dresses, this will be the perfect time to go glam! That said, we won't have any fashion police stationed anywhere nearby, and your comfort on our special day is most important to us. We would like to share that in Argentine culture, wearing white, red, or black dresses to a wedding, or gowns that are mostly lace, is considered taboo.

Question

Where is Chief Hosa, and how do i get there?

Answer

Chief Hosa Lodge is inside Genesee Park, about 25 minutes west of Denver on I-70. The address is: 27661 Genesee Lane, Golden, CO 80401. From Denver, take I-70 west to Exit 253 (Chief Hosa). GPS directions work well, but cell service can be spotty, so it’s best to download directions ahead of time if you're driving yourself. Free parking is available onsite in the lodge’s lot. We recommend carpooling or rideshares where possible. If you really want to impress us, come by bike!

Question

Is there anything else I should know about parking?

Answer

Chief Hosa Lodge has a parking lot that you can use, as we mentioned. It's important to note that the parking lot gates will be closed and locked after our wedding is over, so if you choose to leave your car at the end of the night, you'll want someone to move it down to the service road directly below the venue. Otherwise, your car will be trapped in the lot, which won't open again until Tuesday.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Great Question! We'll probably be able to give you a good answer a few minutes before the wedding starts! Colorado's weather is known to be mercurial, and that's especially true in the foothills, so we encourage you to be prepared that the weather can change quickly. The average high temperature in Genesee, Colorado, around November 23 is approximately 46°F (7.8°C), while the average low temperature is around 27°F (-2.8°C). Historically, there's about a ten percent chance of precipitation on our happy day, which could be rain, snow, or a mixture of the two. However, we're hoping for bright blue skies and a crisp, starry night! We'd love to hold our ceremony outdoors if the weather allows, but inside is warm and cozy, with two stone fireplaces adding ambience.

Question

Tell me about Chief Hosa Lodge!

Answer

Those of you from here have probably driven past the Chief Hosa exit on I-70 countless times, but like us (up until a few months ago!), you might not have ever been to the lodge before now. Originally opened in 1918, the charming stone structure was designed by Jules Jacques Benois Benedict, a well-known Colorado architect who also designed the Wash Park Boathouse, among many other iconic buildings and parks in Denver and across Colorado. Chief Hosa is named after a Southern Arapaho tribal leader who was given the honorary title "Hosa" by the Ute tribe, meaning "peaceful and beautiful." The lodge was built using timber and stone from the surrounding area, and we think you'll fall in love with this National Historic Site and special Colorado treasure, as we have!

Question

What's the Big Deal with the Altitude?

Answer

Sitting at 5280 feet (1,610 meters), Denver is a mile high! You'll gain even more altitude at Chief Hosa Lodge, with an elevation of approximately 7,700 feet (2,347 meters) above sea level. For those of you joining us from sea level, please stay hydrated, know that alcohol and caffeine are likely to affect you more than they typically do, and you may feel more tired than you are used to. We also have a very dry climate, so don't forget to pack or pick up lotion and lip balm! You'll also want sunscreen during the day, since we're that much closer to the sun!
