It is located in the highest rated mall in all of Medellin that includes bars, restaurants, shopping, hair/nail salons, and even a cinema. It is also in a very close and safe location to the best restaurants, bars, coffee shops and clubs of Medellin. Time to pack your passport! We are so excited for you all to join us on this adventure and witness our love for each other nd our families. We thought we would give you some tips and tricks for flight accommodations. Danny and I will be flying out from Chicago O’Hare airport on Monday, January 6th, 2025 and returning home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Travel Note
In case you want to be on the same flight there or back as us, here are the flight numbers: January 6th: Chicago to Miami - AA3056 Miami to Medellin - AA923 January 14th: Medellin to Miami - AA924 Miami to Chicago - AA3056 Here are some tips in traveling/booking your flight: - Check flights on either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, this is when they are the cheapest and I typically check on Google Flights. A helpful tip is to clear your cookies/cache/history to avoid prices to surging up because of the algorithms. - We typically like to fly through 1 airline since the connection is usually smoother and Chicago is a hub for American Airlines - There are no direct flights to Medellin so you will have to have a connecting flight somewhere (usually it’s out of Miami or Fort Lauderdale) - No matter what airport you are connecting through make sur3 you give yourself AT LEAST 2 hours to connect your flight on the way there and 3-4 hours on the way back. Miami airport is very unpredictable and if you have a checked bag you will not make your flight on the way back since you have to go through immigration and security when entering back into the U.S. - We suggest your travel light and only bring a carry on but if you feel that you must bring a checked bag give yourself enough time to get through customs - Latino weddings/all night so we suggest booking a flight back on the 13th if you can Danny and I will be at the hotel from the 9th-13th but will be very close to the hotel at my aunt’s house in the same vicinity! Travel Note
Since this is a ‘destination wedding’ we know that a lot of you are looking to make a trip out of it! Danny and I will be mostly busy with wedding preparations but do plan on going to visit ‘La Comuna 13’ Friday morning (January 10th) with my family and some of our guests. It will be a graffiti tour with beautiful views to the city in a transformed part of Medellin. If you are interested in attending please let us know! Travel Note
We HIGHLY suggest booking your transportation from the airport and back ahead of time. While there are Ubers, and most of them are safe, they are not very reliable. Do NOT get in a taxi without pre-booking it or having someone call for it at the airport. This also goes for jumping/hailing taxis from the street. Feel Medellin, our travel concierge, does offer airport transportation and I have linked it above. If you are still having trouble booking your transportation, please reach out to me so my family can assist you seeing as though they live in Medellin and can offer up their services.
