During a tisch, the groom attempts to give a d’var Torah, (Words of Scripture or sermon), whilst being interrupted by his friends and family with celebratory songs, jokes, and questions. For example, one might interrupt the groom asking, “This is a very interesting point, but can you explain how it connects to Shakespeare’s The Tempest?” or, “How does this sermon relate to Thomas the Train Engine?” or, “What would Spock say about this?” at which point the groom must stop and try to answer the question, while being interrupted again either by another song, joke, or question. Please RSVP via the RSVP tab on our website, so we can save you a seat!
