For those traveling from out of town and looking to spend a few days, we would recommend hitting some of the bigger attractions in the Twin Cities! Red Wing is a small river town just South of the cities with a small downtown area and a few historic sites.

Mall of America

One of the main "tourist" attractions of Minnesota is the Mall of America! The Mall of America is the largest mall in the United States with an indoor theme park, over 520 stores, 50+ restaurants, and an aquarium underneath the mall. It's so large that is has its own zip code. To our out of state friends & family -- no sales tax!

Minnesota Twins Game

For a state that only gets warm weather 6 months out of the year, the Twins games are always PACKED! If you have a little extra time, catch a Twins Game at the outdoor Target Field stadium with the stunning skyline of Minneapolis in the background. If you're looking for a fun bar to pre-game, Cowboy Jacks is within walking distance.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Located next door to the Walker Art Center is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The sculpture garden holds over 40 permanent art installations and is one of the largest sculpture gardens in the country.

Minnehaha Falls

If you're looking to enjoy some of Minnesota's beautiful scenery, look no further than Minnehaha falls located within the Twin Cities. Minnehaha falls is surrounded by a beautiful park with walking paths if you are looking for and outdoor activity.

There are plenty of breweries and distilleries located in and around the Twin Cities. Downtown Stillwater

At the time of incorporation as a city in 1854, Stillwater was the largest city in the State. The lumber industry made Stillwater famous. At the height of the log boom, Stillwater's lumber mills were the largest in the country making Minnesota one of the largest lumber markets in the world. Today, Stillwater has a historic downtown area along the St. Croix River with several restaurants, boutiques, and breweries!

A little further outside of the Twin Cities, about 30 minutes East of St. Paul is Willow River State Park. Another hiking opportunity with larger falls available than Minnehaha. If you're planning to check out Stillwater, this park is about 10 minutes away!

Red Wing Brewery

Located in the old brewery district just up the street from the site of the original Red Wing Brewery (in fact, outside the front door, you would have been able to see the old brewery if it was still standing). The beer is produced and sold exclusively at the brewery, which means that the beer in your glass is as fresh as possible.

Pottery Museum of Red Wing

The pottery museum boasts more than 6,000 pieces of vintage Red Wing Pottery spread over 13,000 square feet. For larger groups they offer guided tours led by one of our knowledge volunteers for a small price. Groups of 5 or more should call at least 24 hours in advance if they wish to have a guided tour through the museum.
