How We Met

Paige and Nick didn't meet in the most organic of ways... Paige was finishing up her 2nd year of PT school and didn't have much time aside from studying to meet anyone. As Paige's friends started getting engaged, she decided to try the newest dating app that was "all the rave" and so, she downloaded 'Hinge'. Nick, on the other hand, was a bit more reluctant to allow an app to determine his "future wife." Nick's roommate at this time, Clay, forced Nick's hand into downloading the app. As one could guess, Paige and Nick "matched" on Hinge and began chatting online and texting. A few weeks later, they agreed to go to brunch in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Nick arrived 30 minutes early since it was nearly a 60-mile drive from Jupiter. In that time frame, Nick had bonded with the server, said he was meeting some random girl from a dating app, and proceeded to take a shot of tequila to calm the nerves. When Paige arrived, the conversation between the two never halted and flowed with ease (with the help of 3 pitchers of mimosas). Four hours later, they both wondered where the heck they'd been each other's whole lives. As they said their goodbyes in the parking lot, Nick didn't flinch when he saw the parking officer writing a ticket on his truck for overdue parking. To this day, that's Nick's favorite parking ticket he's ever paid!

The Proposal

On Thursday, April 15th, 2021, Paige had just gotten off her work shift and rushed to get ready for Helene's (Nick's Mom) birthday dinner at Jetty's in Jupiter, FL. As far as Paige was aware, the family was going on the boat for a sunset cocktail cruise before dinner and leaving for a weekend in St. Augustine the next morning. Paige & Nick drove to their boat slip next to Guanabana's at a small, family owned motel. They walked down to the slip and Nick popped the question on the dock. He had gone so far as to tell Paige a few days earlier, he had to move his boat due to some repairs needing to be done on theirs. This way, he wouldn't have a shot of dropping the ring in the ocean. After Nick popped the question, a photographer came out and began taking photos to capture the moment. A few moments later, Paige saw 30 of their closest family and friends come around the corner. Family and friends had flown down to Florida from Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York, and Georgia to be present for the celebration. Little did Paige know, Nick had rented an Airbnb just down the road from their home for everyone to stay at for a long weekend. Paige and Nick still remember this weekend as truly unforgettable and cannot wait to celebrate their wedding with everyone!
