Question

What time should I arrive to the venue?

Answer

Please arrive to the venue at 4:30pm; the ceremony will begin promptly at 5pm. **There WILL BE traffic.** Unfortunately, most routes to the venue are aligned with rush hour traffic, which can be notoriously bad on a Friday. You should add an extra 15-30 minutes to arrive from what the GPS indicates, as traffic will continue to get worse after 4pm.**

What will the weather be like? Should I bring a layer?

Answer

Be prepared for hot temperatures during the day and cool temperatures in the evening. Current forecasts are showing: HIGH 79F LOW 58F 0% chance of rain It will cool down once the sun goes behind the mountain. We recommend bringing a layer in case it gets chilly. We will also have a bonfire if you need to warm up!

How should I get there?

Answer

Driving: The venue is 10 minutes drive up the mountain from "The Valley" of LA. The road is paved the entire drive, and is not too windy. Please follow signs to "Reptacular Ranch". There is no cell phone service at the venue; you can use the Wifi login listed below to order a ride. Carpooling: We have set up a carpool spreadsheet! Is there parking?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at the venue; staff will be on-site to assist. If you have mobility challenges and need us to reserve you a spot closer to the entrance, please let us know in advance.

Is there cell phone service?

Answer

Will I be able to get a rideshare / taxi / Uber from the ranch?

Answer

Yes! The venue is just 10 minutes up the mountain and serviced by Uber/Lyft. There is no cell phone service; you can use the Wifi login below to order a ride. Wifi information: Network: Starlink Mini Wi-Fi Password: starlinkmini If folks are willing to give rides down the mountain, there is also 7-Eleven at the base of the mountain with cell service where you should have no issues getting an Uber. Please don't drive drunk! If need be, you can leave your car overnight.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Garden Attire: Colorful, comfy, and classy! We encourage fun colors and patterns! We would discourage high heels as they may not fare well on the dirt terrain at the ranch. If your favorite outfit is a bit dressier or more casual, go for it! ADDING SOME NOTES: We truly want to you dress in what you feel is best, but we've gotten a lot of questions about the dress code. We promise we're not strict and we think you're all very fashionable!! But here's some more deets if you like guidance: "Garden party attire is whimsical, dressy, and designed to be worn outdoors. It typically falls somewhere between a semi-formal dress code and cocktail attire, with breezy silhouettes and colors that take inspiration from nature! This is your opportunity to add a bit of color, sparkle, or something playful. And since you’re dressing for an outdoor event, a garden party outfit should be just as comfortable as it is cute. This means flowy dresses, breathable fabrics (such as chiffon or cotton), and shoes that are made for navigating uneven terrains. You also can’t go wrong with a lightweight, colorful suit paired with a crisp white button-down. You can add a colorful tie or a dressier pair of shoes to take your ensemble to the next level."

Will cell phones be permitted at the ceremony?

Answer

We invite you to be fully present with us at our ceremony. We will kindly ask that you turn off your phone and keep it in your bag or pocket. We look forward to sharing professional photographs when they are ready! You are welcome to bring them back out for the reception.

Are my kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

We welcome guests of all ages; there will be kid-friendly activities, including a petting zoo and outdoor games. That being said, we want our parental friends & family to be able to relax and enjoy themselves. For some of you, that may mean leaving the kiddos at home for a date night!

Is the wedding venue accessible?

Answer

Terrain: The terrain is relatively flat, with a dirt/mulch surface. The cocktail petting zoo is across a small bridge which may not be accessible. Accessible parking: if you need parking close to the venue entrance for accessibility reasons, let us know and we can reserve a spot for you.

Can I bring a +1 to the wedding?

Answer

We are so excited to be celebrating with you! All invitees will be included on your invitation, including any +1s (invitation will say & Guest). As such, if your invitation does not say “& guest”, we’d prefer if it were just you. Additional guests cannot be accommodate due to venue restrictions and guest count.

Will Aerienne be changing her last name?

Answer

Aerienne will not be changing her last name. You can still refer to us as Aerienne Russell & Evan Hemsley, or "the world's coolest couple". Please do not refer to us as "The Hemsleys". Thank you!

When / where is the after-wedding picnic?

Answer

Location: Lacy Park, 1485 Virginia Rd, San Marino, CA 91108. Main entrance on Virginia Rd. We have reserved Picnic Area 6. See park map here: https://www.swartzentrover.com/cotor/Photos/Hiking/Pasadena/LacyPark/Map3.jpg Parking: There is a small parking lot (enter on Virginia Rd). The lot does tend to fill up early. There is plenty of street parking in the area. Things to do: Lacy Park is a gorgeous public park that features a rose garden and lots of trees! There is also a playground on-site. Notes: -We have reserved a large picnic area with plenty of tables and shade. No need to bring your own blankets/chairs -We will be bringing some lawn games and board games, but feel free to bring your own! -We will be bringing breakfast tacos and non-alcoholic beverages. Feel free to bring other food/snacks/drinks to share.
