Things To Do

Toronto is a very special place to both of us, and we've spent many days exploring the city. If you have some extra time, dedicate a couple days to see what's up. We recommend walking and traveling by streetcar; it's super charming and runs on a token system.

Gusto 101

101 Portland Street, Toronto, ON M5V 2N3, Canada
, (416) 504-9669

Our favorite Italian restaurant, Gusto 101 was formerly a mechanic's garage. Pro-tips: ask to be seated on the rooftop patio; if there's a wait, kill time at Jimmy's Coffee next door; order the Mafalde ai Funghi!

The Distillery District

Toronto, ON M5A, Canada

A pedestrian-only district of renovated industrial brick buildings where we first met in person. Explore the design boutiques and stop by Balzac's for coffee, or El Catrin for contemporary Mexican cuisine in one of the city's best outdoor patios.

TIFF

TIFF

350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5, Canada
, (416) 599-8433

The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world, attracting over 480,000 people annually. It runs through Sunday September 16, so if you get into town early, consider checking out a film!

Kensington Market

Toronto, ON M5T, Canada

Kensington Market is a bohemian neighbourhood that draws artists and tourists to its indie shops, vintage thrift stores and arts spaces. If you're looking for a place to rest, stop by FIKA Cafe.

Art Gallery of Ontario

317 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON M5T 1G4, Canada
, (416) 979-6648

The Art Gallery of Ontario houses an expansive collection if you're into that sort of thing. The museum itself was designed by Frank Gehry... if you're into that sort of thing.

Chinatown

Toronto, ON M5T, Canada

Stroll through one of the largest Chinatowns in North America. Stop by Mother's Dumplings for lunch, and try Kekou Gelato for amazing Asian influenced gelato and soft-serve flavors – Rosewater Pistachio and HK Milk Tea is one of our favorite ice cream combos we’ve found anywhere.

St. Lawrence Market

93 Front Street East, Toronto, ON M5E 1C3, Canada
, (416) 392-7219

Named the world's best food market by National Geographic, St. Lawrence is a good place to grab a snack or browse through local vendors selling odds and ends. Kozlik's has the best honey mustard!

Entertainment District

Toronto, ON, Canada

CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium, if you must (no shade). Walk down to the Harbourfront if you're there, and stop by the nearby Dineen's Coffee.

Aga Khan Museum

77 Wynford Drive, Toronto, ON M3C 1K1, Canada
, (416) 646-4677

This museums houses a collection of artifacts relating to the intellectual, cultural, artistic and religious traditions of Muslim communities, past and present. The building was designed by Japanese architect (and Pritzker Prize winner) Fumihiko Maki.
