Travel - BRING VALID LICENSE OR PASSPORT
DIRECTIONS
All occupants must show valid driver’s license before entering. Please enter only at Gate 5. You may be asked to show valid car registration and valid proof of car insurance. All occupants must wear seat belts. The speed limit throughout the base is 20 MPH. No cellphone use allowed while driving a vehicle on base.
TRAVELING FROM THE NORTH
Drive south on Interstate 5. Take the Washington Street exit; at traffic light turn right to access MCRD.
TRAVELING FROM THE SOUTH
Drive north on Interstate 5. Take the Washington Street exit; at traffic light turn left to access MCRD.
TRAVELING FROM THE EAST
Drive West on Interstate 8. Take Interstate 5 South. Take the Washington Street exit; at traffic light turn right to access MCRD.
TRAVELING FROM THE WEST (POINT LOMA)
Gate 5: From Rosecrans St. in Point Loma, turn southeast on Lytton St.; Lytton St. becomes Barnett Ave. Drive past Gate 2 towards Pacific Highway, take the Washington St. exit; at traffic light turn right to access MCRD.

Note for Out of Towners
If you're planning to hang out with us and enjoy the area anytime during the week leading up to the wedding or the week after, we'll be in located in the Oceanside/Vista area. We're sticking around for a week after the wedding to spend time with those of you we don't get to see often! So feel free to book your lodgings more toward the North County area so you can have easy access to the family and our local favorite spots and eateries! For those wanting book a place in downtown San Diego, we also have plenty of food and beach suggestions for you there if you have time to squeeze in some sightseeing!
