Where we went on our first 'official' date. Check the website to see what performances are happening!
Always super beautiful!
Check the website for tours (and tastings!)
We love to head into Manhattan, and walk over the bridge (takes about 20 minutes) and then hang out in the Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO.
An amazing store in Park Slope that has everything you need to be a superhero! (There's also a hidden door inside the store that opens into 826NYC, a non-profit that offers writing workshops, tutoring etc to under resourced children)
This is a historical building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It serves as the visitor center, and is where tours leave from.
An amazing hole in the wall Tibetian Restaurant right next to the Q train. It's literally a hole in the wall. Get the Momo's!
Where our wedding is taking place!
DUMBO stands for "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass". It's a great neighborhood to walk around
Besides being a beautiful park, Greenwood is also the burial place for some pretty famous people like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Boss Tweed, Leonard Bernstein, Horace Greeley, and DeWitt Clinton... to name a few. In 1886, The New York Times reported that “It is the ambition of the New Yorker to live upon Fifth Avenue, to take his airings in the [Central] Park, and to sleep with his fathers in Green-Wood.”
From the website: "Founded in 2010, Kings County makes handmade moonshine, bourbon, and other whiskeys out of the 119-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard." "Tours with tastings are offered Tuesday through Sunday afternoons and the Gatehouse tasting room in the 1896 ceremonial entrance to the Navy Yard is open every day."
The Louis Valentino Jr. Park-and-Pier in Red Hook offers the closest front-facing view of the Statue of Liberty from anywhere on land in New York. It has amazing skyline views!
Located in Brooklyn Chinatown! This is one of our favorite places to go out to eat with friends. A unique experience. One time we thought we ordered the "large shrimp" and we got a bowl of live shrimp!
A classic. Go for lunch.
"Pioneer Works is a non-profit foundation in Red Hook, New York City that fosters multidisciplinary creativity in the arts and sciences." An art gallery, performance space, and more all wrapped into a beautiful brick building in Red Hook.
Our backyard!
The best Middle Eastern food in America. Located in Bay Ridge and ran by Chef Rawia, who always stops by your table to check in on you.
Where Jess and Zac started dating way back in 2012! A very hip neighborhood to walk around.
