February is peak travel season in Cartagena, meaning lots of tourists and weddings. To get the best prices and options, we recommend booking your hotel by September 2025.
All of our wedding events are located in the historic 'Walled City' of Cartagena, located within a 5-minute walk of one another. There are plenty of centrally located hotels just steps away from the wedding venue that are surrounded by the city’s best shops, restaurants, and bars. The charming cobblestone streets make everything easily walkable. Friday | Welcome Party @ Alquimico | 6pm Saturday | Wedding @ Baluarte Santiago Apostol | 5pm Sunday | Brunch @ Hotel Collegio | 12pm
We have reserved several hotels for our friends and family! All located within a 5-min walk each other and the wedding venue! 1. The MOVICH Hotel (ALL ROOMS ARE RESERVED ) 2. Casona del Colegio (ALL ROOMS ARE RESERVED ) 3. Hotel Casona del Porvenir Other Hotel Recommendations: Sophia Hotel, Charleston Santa Teresa, Santa Catalina, and Casa Pestagua. Please note that limited space is available, so we recommend booking your room as soon as possible to secure your stay. Cartagena’s hotels book up fast during peak season (February), booking late means fewer options and higher prices.
You will need a valid passport. Your passport must be valid through August 7th 2026 (expiration date 6+ months from dates of travel).
Please RSVP before October 15th 2025. If you are unable to join us, please let us know immediately (in writing or electronically). If we do not receive your RSVP by the deadline, we will assume you are unable to attend and your seat will NOT be reserved.
We love and cherish your little ones! However, due to Colombia’s strict regulations regarding minors, children under 18 are not permitted at any wedding events (Welcome Party, Ceremony, Reception, Brunch)
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. You can confirm if you have a plus one by checking your name in the RSVP tab at the top of this page. If you believe there may have been a mistake or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dave or Adrienne!
✅ Passport Check - Confirm your passport is valid through August 2026 (6+ months) ✅ Fill Out Check-Mig Form - Complete Colombia’s free online immigration form 24 hours before your flight. ✅ Plan for Customs - Customs can take 2+ hours on Friday afternoons — arriving earlier in the week is quicker. ✅ Use Uber - Ubers are easy, safe, and cheap (~ $10 USD from Cartagena airport) ✅ Currency Tip - Credit cards are widely accepted in Cartagena, especially in hotels, restaurants, and shops. ✅ Weather + Packing - Cartagena is warm and tropical! Pack light, breathable clothes!
Customs lines in Cartagena can take 2+ hours during peak times (especially weekend afternoons), so we recommend bringing snacks and water to stay comfortable (or arriving on a weekday if possible). There is a priority line for travelers who are pregnant, older, or have health issues that we recommend using! Colombia requires travelers to complete an Immigration Form before arrival. The immigration form can be completed electronically via CheckMig.
Ubers are available in Cartagena and are the preferred method to get around (other than walking). Taxis generally are unreliable and will overcharge you in Cartagena so avoid if possible!
The exchange rate is 1 Colombian Peso (COP) = 0.00025 United States Dollar. Essentially, you can take any price in COP and divide it by 4,000 to get the approximate price in USD.
The weather in Cartagena will be warm and sunny, with temperatures in the high 80s during the day. Since all wedding events will take place outdoors, we recommend dressing accordingly!
Please indicate any food allergies during the RSVP process and inform Adrienne and David of any food allergies.
Cartagena has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years and is a safe destination for tourists, especially in the historic center known as the Walled City. The streets are very walkable, making it easy to explore, and the city is protected by its large, historic stone walls, adding an extra layer of security and charm. As with any popular city (such as NYC), it’s important to take basic safety precautions and stay vigilant. • Avoid wearing flashy, expensive jewelry. • Don't carry around large sums of money. • Be mindful of pickpocketers. • Politely decline unsolicited offers. • Be aware of scams & hidden fees. • Use Uber instead of taxis. • Don't meet up with strangers on dating apps.
• Download WhatsApp to communicate with us and others while in Colombia. • Exchange a few dollars for Colombian pesos just in case. Most restaurants and shops accept Visa and Mastercard. • Download Google Translate although most locals can speak English in Cartagena. • Download Google Maps for navigation—other apps may not work. • Always ask for the price before accepting any product or service. • Sticking to bottled or filtered water

Welcome Party - Smart Casual or Cocktail Think elevated evening looks — a stylish jumpsuit, cocktail dress, or coordinated set for women; button-down shirts or polos with trousers or chinos for men. Ceremony & Reception - Elevated Cocktail Think vibrant, chic dresses and linen suits (ties are optional). It will be warm, so lightweight fabrics are best. When in doubt, a little black dress is always a great option!
