How We Met

Out in the wild

Adrielle & Hubert met the old-fashioned way — out in the wild — at a bar named "Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row" in downtown Denver in 2024. Hubert came up to Adrielle and asked her to dance (in what she thinks was a very creative way). It was charming enough that they exchanged social media, but at the time, their story seemed to pause there. The next day, Hubert tried to start a friendly conversation in the Instagram DMs. However, Adrielle wasn’t feeling the small talk and may have left him on “seen.” Thankfully, Hubert believes in second chances. About a month later, he bravely tried again and slid into the DMs one more time. This time, it worked. They exchanged numbers, started talking for real, and the rest quickly became history. One date led to a second, then a third, and before long, they were spending nearly every day together; even traveling the world together. What started as a spontaneous dance-floor meeting turned into something we never expected, but are incredibly grateful for. Turns out, sometimes love just needs a second message — and a great dance invitation.

How Hubert proposed

When the city of love became our forever.

We started the day before the sun. Hubert told Adrielle he wanted to get an early start and to see the Eiffel Tower before the crowds, right around sunrise. He even said he was going to “dress nice,” so Adrielle matched his energy and got dressed up too for a beautiful morning walk. We Ubered to a quiet spot near the Eiffel Tower, and the city was still soft and sleepy. As the sky began to glow, he suggested we walk along the river. We wandered down a set of stairs, and it felt like we had Paris almost entirely to ourselves. There was a photographer nearby taking photos of the tower, and for a moment, it all felt like a scene from a movie. Hubert started talking and suddenly pulled out a letter. As he read it, time seemed to slow down, the kind of moment you wish you could bottle up forever. And then, just like that, he got down on one knee. In the middle of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower behind us and the sun rising, he asked Adrielle to marry him. And of course, she said yes. Afterward, we spent the morning walking through the streets of Paris, taking photos, laughing, and soaking in every second of what had just happened. It was the most surreal, magical start to our forever, and a day we’ll never, ever forget.
