It was written in the stars...

The universe had been quietly writing Ariel and Josh's love story long before their paths crossed. They didn’t just meet — their souls collided, instantly recognizing what they had been searching for all along. As they fell in love, it became clear they fit together effortlessly, like two halves finally finding their home. And here is their love story: For years, Josh navigated long, unpredictable nights at work while Ariel was deep in the whirlwind of working two jobs and earning her doctorate degree. Many afternoons after work, Ariel would drive to the Long Beach boardwalk to unwind and dream. She imagined a life by the water and hoped she would meet someone who shared that same dream. Little did she know, as she strolled past Josh’s home, he was often asleep inside after a night shift — dreaming of a love he had yet to find. Ariel and Josh must have crossed paths countless times over the years, their lives running parallel until the moment they would finally meet. On April 24, 2024 — the one-year anniversary of Ariel’s dissertation defense — they matched on Hinge. A date already etched in Ariel’s heart suddenly became something even greater: the beginning of their love story. Months earlier, she had engraved “April 24” on a special ring she wears on her right hand, never imagining it would also mark the day she met the love of her life. Shortly after matching, Josh wrote that he’d love to cook for her… but only if she promised him a good Yelp review. It was the first of many laughs — and the perfect opening line to a future they’d write together. Their first date was at Hilltop on May 11, 2024, and from the moment they met, the spark was undeniable. Conversation flowed as if they had known each other forever. By the second date, Josh said, “me, you, and tacos!” — a promise that led to their first kiss outside Dirty Taco before he headed off to work overnight. Their third date in Long Beach was just as unforgettable: sushi at Nagahama, Marvel ice cream, and a kiss under the stars. That night, Josh knew in his heart, “I’m going to marry her.” At that very same moment, Ariel typed a message on her phone: “I’m going to marry this man.” Neither knew what the other was thinking, yet both carried the same certainty in their hearts. That unspoken alignment — the kind of instant knowing that people dream about — became the foundation of their love story, marking the beginning of a future they were already destined to share. Since the day they met, life together has been better than they ever imagined. Ariel & Josh eat sushi every Saturday night, spend Sunday mornings at Laurel Diner, and most evenings end with long walks or bike rides along the Long Beach boardwalk. The simplest moments at home have turned into some of their most favorite memories — watching their favorite shows (especially Dexter), dancing in the kitchen while cooking, making up songs to sing to each other, sending each other TikToks, and even turning grocery shopping into a fun weekly ritual. Their favorite days off include Yankees games, dinners at Texas Roadhouse or Cheesecake Factory, brewery dates, and summer concerts at Jones Beach. They’ve traveled to Newport, Rhode Island; Boston; Montauk; Lancaster; and Nashville, across the country to California — exploring San Diego, La Jolla, and the magic of Disneyland — and even across the world to Italy, wandering through the ancient streets of Rome, the beauty of Florence, and the colorful seaside villages of Cinque Terre. They’ve celebrated holidays with family, started new traditions of their own, and built a life together filled with so much laughter and hearts full of love. Over the years, their bond has grown even stronger, revealing the heart of their relationship: they are not just partners, but true best friends — proof that when you know, you just know!

The Yes Day

August 22, 2025 was a day that felt touched with magic from the very start. The morning greeted them with golden sunshine, cheerful birdsong, and a flawless sky without a single cloud in sight. Ariel didn’t know what was coming, but Josh did. For weeks, he had been secretly planning — working with a jeweler to create her ring, meeting a professional photographer to plan every detail, and rethinking the perfect spot after a storm. That evening, after dinner at a local Long Beach spot Roc & Olive, they strolled to the beach like they always did. Ariel noticed a photographer taking pictures of his wife and commented on how sweet it was — not realizing it was for her. Moments later, Josh led her down to the sand. With the air warm, waves crashing, and sunset wrapping the day in gold, he asked her to marry him. The photographer captured every second, and they celebrated with Marvel ice cream cones on the boardwalk. Pure magic.

The Best Day

Josh and Ariel are so looking forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless sunsets together. For a couple whose love story has always felt like fireworks, July 5, 2026 couldn't be a more perfect date for a night filled with joy, gratitude, and the magic of forever. Surrounded by the people they love most, they can’t wait to begin their next chapter under a sky of celebration — a night of Red, White, and “I Do!”
