A quaint French cafe and our first stop on our first date before it was rebranded as Petite Matines; very busy on weekend or holiday mornings, but quite nice by the afternoon on weekdays and often with seasonal drink offerings!
We are thankful for how close this park is and how many different options it has, whether for an afternoon on a trail or a picnic in the meadow. A great place to go in almost any season. For how close to the city it is, this park feels like a world of its own.
We celebrated our engagement with drinks and dinner here at the Dandelion in downtown Philadelphia. We enjoyed a Welsh rarebit appetizer and then he ate the fish and chips and she had the shepherd's pie. 10/10.
A local café where we enjoy studying together, usually with an iced matcha latte or earl grey for her and spiced chai or English breakfast tea (with two splashes of milk and a teaspoon of sugar or honey) for him, until coffee is back in his diet.
The location of our engagement photoshoot, a beautiful natural area with a pond and some gardens, and also FREE!
We went on our first dinner date here after a lot of cafes and parks, but it was fun and convenient and if you're lucky you might catch some live music.
Famous for being a photo op with the "Rocky steps" in front, but also an excellent art museum with a great variety for anyone who has time enough to enjoy it.
Another frequent haunt for study time and a variety of beverages. They have events a couple times a week and are BYOF!
It's a park, it's a fishing spot, it's a lavender farm-- it has loads of options for a day picnicking, birding, boating, walking, etc!
A popular covered market with international cuisine and Philadelphia favourites, but be warned, it can be very crowded at lunch time! A smaller alternative closer to our reception venue is Market at the Fairway in Chestnut Hill.
Our favourite ice cream place, where we try a new flavour just about every time we visit, with indoor and outdoor seating and you can take a pint for the road if you'd prefer to enjoy it elsewhere.
Historically significant and beautiful this time of year, Valley Forge is a great place for all ages whether you spend it exploring recreations of revolutionary war era log cabins, checking out the little bookshop by the chapel, or hiking near the covered bridge.
The third largest mall in the US and a place to head if you need just about anything or have a few hours to spend shopping, just window shopping, or just getting lost!
