Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

Wedding begins at 2pm on Saturday June 28th, 2025, and it will be held at the meadow near our family cabin. Everyone is welcome to come days earlier and stay days later and enjoy the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.

Question

Where can we stay?

Answer

Cabins for rent, 20 minute drive from venue: https://reserve.tnstateparks.com/roan-mountain/cabins There are Vrbo rentals available in the area that range largely in sizes. There are motels and hotels around the area: Skyline Village Inn is about 40 minutes from the venue and has 4.7 stars. Pine Valley Motel is about 30 minutes from the venue and has 4 stars. Banner Elk has a Best Western that has 4.3 stars and is 50 minutes from the venue. Banner Elk also has more inns, motel, cabin rentals, and bed and breakfasts that will all be about 50 minutes from the venue. If you do plan on attending the wedding, I would highly encourage you to book accommodations soon as late June is a very popular time for visitors and places will start to book up. There are restaurants and grocery stores around the area in Spruce Pine, Newland, and Banner Elk; however, they were affected by the hurricane and some of the businesses are still recovering.

Question

Transportation to the Venue

Answer

If you are flying in, please be prepared to rent a car from the airport. Parking is limited so if you are able to carpool with other guests that will be ideal; however, there will be spaces to park that are walking distance from the venue.

Question

What is there to do in the area

Answer

If you love the outdoors this is the perfect location for you! We are surrounded by the oldest mountain ranges in the United States. The venue is only 5 minutes away from the Appalachian Trail with access to Carvers Gap with beautiful 360 views of the mountains. The Rhododendron Gardens are also 5 minutes away with easy paved walking paths. Boone is only a little over a hour away, Asheville is less than 2 hours away with many tourist attractions including the Biltmore Estate!

Question

What is the dresscode?

Answer

Even though this will be a more causal setting for a wedding, we do love an excuse to dress up and have fun. It is not a formal outfit occasion, but it is also not a shorts occasion either. It will be summertime, but the elevation is around 4,500ft so it's cooler. Jeans are okay but please no rips or stains on them. Short-sleeve button ups are okay, but please no t-shirts. Wear as much color as you would like to match our garden theme.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are having a small wedding, and the location is not a large area so please do not bring plus ones unless it is stated on your invitation.

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Absolutely! We are having a buffet style set-up with BBQ food and there will be tables with finger food and desserts. We will have a hydration station for all kinds of waters and there will also be beer and wine available.

Question

Will there be music?

Answer

Big yes! There will be lots of music playing, but there won't be a designated dance floor. If people would like to dance, they are very welcome to, but there will also be games and activities to do around the meadow.

Question

Are kids allowed at the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Feel free to bring your little ones, we will have games for them to play with as well.

For all the days along the way
