Indianapolis

Indianapolis, IN

Restaurants, Activities, and Bars we recommend going to!

Canal Walk

Canal Walk, Indianapolis, IN

If you’re looking for a relaxing way to take in the city, the Downtown Canal Walk is one of my go-to recommendations. It’s a beautiful 3-mile stretch that winds through the Indy, perfect for walking, biking, or just sitting by the water and people-watching. You’ll find cool public art, cute little bridges, and great views of the city skyline. There are even gondola rides and pedal boats if you’re feeling adventurous! Plus, it’s close to some of Indy’s attractions like White River State Park, the Indiana State Museum, and the Eiteljorg Museum.

Mass Ave Cultural Arts District

342 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Massachusetts Avenue/Mass Ave is where you’ll find a little bit of everything: cool local boutiques, great restaurants, and live theater. It’s a fun mix of historic charm and modern Indy personality. Whether you’re shopping, grabbing a bite, or looking for nightlife, Mass Ave doesn’t disappoint.

Sporting Events - Indy Eleven, Pacers, Fever, Indians will be playing

Morgan Wallen Concert

Indianapolis Zoo

1200 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222

Newfields

4000 North Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46208

Just north of downtown Indy, Newfields is a mix of art, gardens, and history. The property includes the Lilly House — once home to the Lilly family (Eli Lilly). You can tour the house, walk through the gardens, or visit the art museum on the same grounds. It’s a quiet, scenic place to spend an afternoon if you are interested in art or the Lilly family.

Bars W Live Music

Slippery Noodle Inn Indiana’s oldest bar with live blues and rock music almost every night. A downtown classic. Tin Roof High-energy bar featuring live bands and DJs—great for dancing and late-night fun. Howl at the Moon Dueling piano bar with live musicians, sing-alongs, and a lively party atmosphere. Ball & Biscuit Craft cocktails with live jazz and swing music in an upscale, intimate setting. Chatterbox Jazz Club Small, cozy jazz bar known for nightly live jazz performances. The Rathskeller Biergarten - highly recommend German beer hall with live bands and seasonal outdoor music.

Downtown Bars

Kilroy’s Downtown A classic Indy bar known for stuffed breadsticks and strong drinks—fun, casual, and always busy. The Exchange Whiskey Bar A cozy, underground whiskey bar with an impressive selection and relaxed vibe. 1933 Lounge An intimate speakeasy-style cocktail bar tucked inside the Hyatt Regency. Burnside Inn A laid-back bar with a neighborhood feel and solid drink options. The District Tap Downtown A casual sports bar with lots of TVs, good food, and a wide beer selection. Tom’s Watch Bar A modern sports bar with wall-to-wall TVs—great for catching games with a crowd. The Tap A relaxed craft beer bar offering a large beer list and pub-style food. Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery A classic downtown dive bar with a loyal local crowd and no-frills atmosphere. Spoke & Steele Bar An upscale hotel bar with craft cocktails in a refined setting. Eagle’s Nest An upscale revolving restaurant and bar at the top of the Hyatt with panoramic city views.

The Eagle's Nest

1 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204

An upscale restaurant with a rotating floor—located at the top of the Hyatt. A very cool dining experience.

Adele's Hometown

Carmel, IN

Adele's Hometown has lots of things to do and to go explore. Below you will find things to do if you plan to stay for longer and explore the area!

Midtown Plaza Carmel

365 Monon Boulevard, Carmel, IN 46032

Carmel Farmers Market

2 Carter Green, Carmel, IN 46032

A relaxed Saturday morning outing — good for strolling, grabbing something fresh, enjoying your morning right next to downtown Carmel!

Monon Trail

Monon Trail, Carmel, IN

A Carmel favorite! This scenic, paved trail runs for over 25 miles through Indy and Carmel. I grew up running here — it’s beautiful, easy to access, and perfect for a morning run or walk if you need a little fresh air during the weekend. There are also lots of shops and food places along the way depending on where you get on the trail.

Sun King Carmel

Sun King Carmel

351 Monon Boulevard, Carmel, IN 46032

This is one of our favorite spots in Carmel. It’s right along the Monon Trail and has something for everyone — great cocktails and local beer for the adults, and plenty of space (and even some activities) to keep kids entertained. There are several food vendors inside, so everyone can grab what they want and hang out together. It’s casual, easy, and perfect for an afternoon in Carmel. There’s also another brewery right next door, so you can decide which one you would like to hang out at - both have great food!

Bub's Burgers & Ice Cream

210 West Main Street, Carmel, IN 46032

A Carmel classic and an easy meal. Bub’s is known for their hand-pattied burgers (the elk burger is a favorite for Louis) and hand-dipped milkshakes. It’s casual, kid-friendly, and right off the Monon Trail — perfect for grabbing lunch or dinner after a walk or bike ride. If your up for it, eat the one-pound Big Ugly Burger and you get your photo on the wall.

Graeter's Ice Cream

864 South Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032

A Carmel classic and one of our favorite stops. Adele's go-to is the cookie dough, Louis is all about the mint chocolate chip, and Adele's family (along with just about everyone else) swears by the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip. You really can’t go wrong. It’s just a minute off downtown Carmel and always worth the quick drive.
