We first met in Findlay, Ohio, on August 17, 2020. Adele was attending the University of Findlay and playing soccer, while Louis was interning at Cooper Tire. The connection? Adele’s roommate at the time, who just so happened to be high school friends with Louis. One introduction later, Louis was throwing a soccer ball at Adele to get her attention, pulling up his fishing podcast to show off a little, and asking for her number—which she of course gave him. Two days later, we went on our first date. Louis asked her out a few times, and on September 5, 2020, we made it official. That fall, Louis lived in Findlay and quickly became one of Adele’s biggest supporters—attending most of her games, even a couple away games. When he moved back to Toledo in the spring to resume classes, he still found ways to surprise her. Whether it was driving down to Findlay after one of her away games or showing up just to spend a few hours together, he always made the effort. Eventually, Adele transferred to the University of Toledo to play soccer at a higher division, and Louis wrapped up his fifth year at the University of Toledo. Adele and Louis spent one year at the same school before Louis graduated and started his career at Marathon Petroleum as an investment analysist. Adele continued her soccer career through her fifth and sixth years at UT while earning her MBA and Louis stayed by her side, attending games, supporting her goals, and cheering her on every step of the way. He was known as UT's loudest fan in the stadium... In April 2024, we added a new member to the family—a chocolate lab named River, who has quickly become the center of our world. Then, just before Christmas on December 21, 2024, Louis proposed with a little help from his sister, Carley—at their favorite park where they love to walk River. It was perfect. Almost five years later, we’re still each other’s best friend and biggest fans—and now we can’t wait to start this next chapter together.
