Terrence pops the question!
In 2019, I went to a step show at Woodward High School. As I walked around during intermission, I noticed Phi Beta Sigma’s table and figured I would stop by to say hello to the members of my brother fraternity. When I said hello to Terrence, he nonchalantly gave me a head nod, and I was immediately annoyed. “Who is the guy? What type of brother isn’t enthused to see a member of his sister sorority?” I walked away, brushed it off, and went along with my day. One day in October, I was tweeting away on Twitter, talking about my usual nonsense. I noticed this guy tweeting me back. I was bored, with nothing to do, and figured I would entertain the conversation. Me being me, I decided to stalk the guy’s profile because I didn’t recognize who I was even having a conversation with. As I looked through the guy’s profile pictures, I found the same guy I was irritated with at the step show. It was him! Within a matter of time, I received a DM from Terrence in which he claimed that he did not know that I was his sorority sister. We found out that we lived 5 minutes away from each other and had never seen each other before. We exchanged numbers and began texting. Within a few weeks, he invited me to his home to help set up his ring camera. When I arrived at his house, and he opened the door, I heard a voice in my head say “this is your husband.” The rest is history.
We crossed paths on February 19th, 2019, at an NPHC college tour showcase at Woodward High School. At the Sigma table, she walked past me and said, "Hey, Frat," we both looked. I gave her a nod and said, "What's up?" She just stared at me, shook her head, and walked away. She considered me rude because I didn't start geeking over her, but if anyone knows me, I am laid back and calm, which is how I greet people. Fast forward to October 23rd, 2019; let's say it goes down in the DM's. I saw a chatty, ranting Adelaide on the timeline talking about hoodies, so I reached out. The crazy part is we followed each other the whole time but didn't know it. I guess I followed her because she was a Zeta, or I was bored following people one day. Who knows anyway once I checked her profile, I was like, "This the soror that was fake mad. I didn't geek over her, saying hi to me and jumping over the table to greet her back, lol." She claims to this day, I didn't know she was a Zeta. IDK why when she said, "Hey, Frat with a Zeta jacket on 😂." We exchanged numbers and texted for a few weeks. I asked her to come over and help me install my security system on the house once we found out we lived around the corner from each other. Keep in mind I didn't need help; I was just tired of texting and talking on the phone, and I felt like she was too. We both played hard to get, even though she would never admit it. She came over smiling ear to ear when she exited the car; the rest is history.
