It's Finally Happening!

In the spring of 2012 Andrew and Sam we're both freshman members of their respective FIRST Robotics teams. Being only an hour apart, teams 291 and 306 were known to do a lot of activities and events together. It was through these events and competitions that Sam and Andrew first met. High school would pass in a blur with both of them only knowing each other by face and team and casually saying hello at the competitions. It wasn't until senior year, when Sam was helping team 291 with a few things, that the two would actually exchange phone numbers and start talking. What started out as a friendship quickly turned into something more after both of them admitted to having a crush on the other one for several years. Neither one of them really "made the first move" but built a friendship that gave way into a beautiful relationship built on trust, love, and friendship. We truly are each other's best friend.

On November 16th, 2017 Andrew took Sam to go see the Broadway cast perform "Kinkyboots" at the Warner Theater as an early Christmas present. After the show as they were driving back to Andrew's house, he asked her if they could make a quick stop. Figuring they were stopping for milkshakes or something similar, as they often did, Sam said of course. However, when Andrew pulled into the parking lot at Asbury Woods Park, the same place they went on their first date and several dates after, Sam started to get suspicious. After a lovely walk around the park, Andrew stopped them and began to play a piano cover of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, which was their song and pulled Sam in to slow dance until the stars. The two sang to each other, and as the song ended, Andrew used the language FIRST had taught them about creating an alliance to ask the question. "Andrew Frost would like to invite Samantha Adams to join his alliance." Crying and laughing, Sam said yes and the two quickly made their way home to tell their families.
