When is the RSVP due?

Answer

Kindly ensure your RSVP is submitted not later than July 6, 2024. Guests who haven't responded by this date will be marked as "not attending."

Question

What should I do if I can't make it, before or after RSVP-ing?

Answer

Your presence will be missed at the wedding! If you're unable to attend, kindly RSVP with a "no" to assist us in our planning. If you've already responded with a "yes", please inform us promptly so we can adjust our arrangements accordingly.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal attire! Ladies: Dresses, rompers, sandals or heels. Whatever will be comfortable in the September heat. The ceremony will be held outside on their paved patio.. so ladies don't worry about your heels sinking into the grass! The cocktail hour and ceremony will be held indoors. Gentleman: Khakis or dress pants, long or short sleeve button ups, ties, bowties, and dress shoes. If you have a clean pair of vans or cowboy boots, go for it. It's going to be HOT and while we all love to shimmer in the sun, suit jackets are not required. Please, no denim or jeans. This isn't a barn wedding. Yes I have to say it... NO WHITE OR ANYTHING IN THE CREAM FAMILY! I will not be responsible if a bridesmaid spills red wine on you. Save yourself the embarrassment and a trip to the cleaners.

Is there a theme?

If you haven't already guessed, the theme is boho tropical! We are bringing the islands to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The bridal party will be wearing French Navy Blue so we ask you please avoid that color. Stick to tropical colors, like greens, pinks, oranges, blues. We also aren't into the "forbidden colors." You can wear black if that makes you happy. My only request is no red. (or anything in the white family)

Can I bring a date?

If the option is there when you RSVP, then yes.

Are kids invited?

Answer

In short, no. John's niece and nephew are participating in the wedding, but the venue is not kid friendly. We kindly ask you leave the kids at home and come unwind for the weekend.

What time should I arrive? Will there be transportation?

Answer

Guest transportation to the venue will be provided via shuttle buses departing from each hotel at 4:00pm. The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 4:30pm. **It's important to note that the shuttles will only make two trips throughout the day/night: one to the venue and one back to the hotel. Please ensure that you and your group are prepared by 4:00pm for the shuttle to the venue, as this will be the only departure time. Additionally, guests are welcome to drive themselves to the venue, as the parking lot can accommodate our entire guest list.

Where is each event taking place?

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held at Hazy Mountain Vineyards, located at: 240 Hazy Mountain Ln. Afton, VA 22920

Where do guests go after the ceremony?

Answer

The wedding party will be taking pictures on the property from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Guests will be directed to the solarium to enjoy cocktail hour and snacks before the reception.

What is there to do after the wedding?

Answer

Currently, we haven't found any bars or lounges in Afton that are open after 10pm. Guests are welcome to venture to Charlottesville for a "night cap," but please note that the shuttles will only be going to the hotel after the wedding. Additionally, keep in mind that finding Ubers and Lyfts in the Afton area may be challenging.

Where can I find your registry?

John and Melissa have decided on a Honeymoon Fund since their home is already equipped with everything a new couple needs. Feel free to contribute any amount to this fund or to specific honeymoon activities, along with a note for the couple. In addition, cards will be happily accepted at the wedding. Our Honeymoon Fund can be found in the heading bar.

Will there be any alternate options for meals? (Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.)

Yes! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP.

What is the beverage situation?

Answer

We will be providing Hazy Mountain wine, beer, and signature cocktails, along with nonalcoholic beverages. However, tipping the bartender is always appreciated!

Am I allowed to bring centerpieces or decor home?

Answer

We will be using many rental items, as well as our own personal items as part of the wedding decorations. So, we ask that you please not remove any decorations and leave the centerpieces on the tables. Thank you.
