Is this an outdoor wedding?
Answer
Outside! So much outside! Hosted at our house, Elksbridge, in the mountains near Nederland, CO at 8,500'. Ish. There will be a tent for the reception, and backup to the backup to the backup plans in case of wind/rain/nuclear fallout.

One of Nicki’s favorite things to do is have other people (servers, cooks, baristas, people next to her in line…) choose what she orders. This helps her try new and exciting things that she may not encounter otherwise. With that in mind, our wedding dessert is Dealer’s Choice Pie! Surprise us! Yep! Many of you have them! Each potlucked dish will have an ingredients list so you know what you're getting into! There will be specific areas for gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian foods. Just follow the signs!

Talk parking to me!
Answer
Well...we don't have a lot of it! Pretty much, street parking is it, then a wee walk to our house. Don't wear dumb shoes, and please be nice to our very patient neighbors. Please carpool if you are able! There are a VERY limited number of parking spots next to the house. We would like to save these for our older family members, and those with very small children. If you are camping on our property, we might just have to do a pre- and post-wedding vehicle switcheroo.

What do I wear?
Answer
Mountain casual. :) Don't wear your high heels, ladies. Pick shoes, and clothes, that you're going to be comfortable in, and not break an ankle wearing. Also, July in the mountains doesn't necessarily mean hot weather. Bring/wear layers! The temperature is almost sure to drop 10-20 degrees when the sun goes down. Sunscreen, sunglasses, raincoats, and probably bug spray are good ideas!

What about kids???

Sure thing! I mean, we can't very well invite our own and then leave them with only grownups to be with. That would be totally lame. So, whatever works best for your family is cool with us, but be advised...there are no fences/gates to keep them contained.

Are dogs invited?
Answer
Alas, no. But neither are cats, horses, or service tarantulas, so it's not just them. In addition to dog parties being difficult to manage after a certain volume of dogs, we also have a LOT of wildlife in our woods, and we don't want to create a wild/domestic animal situation.

What if there's a fire ban?
Answer
Well...then there will be no bonfires/campfires. So sorry! It is, in fact, extremely likely that we will be in some level of a fire ban because...climate change. If so, there will be signs along the highways and all campgrounds so you'll know. If we ARE in a fire ban, it's for reals folks. Please, please, PLEASE obey the guidance/restrictions given. Loose restrictions might mean fires only in designated, permanent firepits. Tight restrictions will include no smoking, no guns, no grills of any kind. We don't mess around with fires here. Not even a little bit.

Can I bring my: guitar, banjo, madolin, flute, oboe, congas, upright bass, didgeridoo, jaw harp, triangle, castanets, harpsichord, lyre....?

Obviously! Yes, please! We won't have a formal band for the wedding, but many among you are musicians, and there will be many opportunities for picks, jams, etc. while you're here. We welcome all the music and all the jamming! Bring it on! Let there be all that goodness.
