While we had ample opportunity for our paths to cross, we were not introduced until 2022 by our dearest friends, Maddie and Morgan. We both went to Soddy Daisy High school (separate decades of course) where we were in JROTC and both were mentored by SGT Barnes. Adam began working at Volkswagen of Chattanooga in 2011, while I didn't start until 2017; even then, our paths did not cross. It wasn't until years later that our friends Maddie and Morgan introduced us for the first time - it took another year and half before we began hanging out as a group. What started as us tagging along on our friends dates turned into a ploy to set us up, and to our dismay they knew what they were doing. All jokes aside, we clicked easily and became inseparable instantly. I can honestly say that we became each other's best friend; even in silence we wanted to be together. When the time came, Adam (the romantic that he is) told me, " well I guess I should ask you to be my girlfriend", just moments before I met his entire family at his brother's birthday. To top that, almost two years later, his proposal consisted of "You want to?", although we all know that W was silent. Not everyone would consider these grand acts of romance, but to me they were. They were un-apologetically Adam and Monica. It took a little longer for us to get here, but man was it worth the wait.
