Whitley Bay is accessible by car, train and metro. Newcastle Central is the nearest train station. From there, Whitley Bay is 25 minute metro ride. You may need to book a taxi to take you from Whitley Bay Metro Station to St. Mary's Island.
Accessing the island is tricky. Cars are permitted on the causeway and there is a small turning circle but no parking at St. Mary's Lighthouse. You can drop guests in heels and children on the island and then leave cars at the car park at the beginning of the causeway. Payment for the car park is by card only. Please note, transport from the ceremony to the reception is provided. As such, you might choose to get a taxi from your accommodation to St. Mary's Island.
We do not mind what you wear, where you sit or if/when you would like to share photographs. Your kindest gift to us is your presence on the day, no further gifting is expected. We hope you do not mind that children under the age of five sit on grown ups' knees during the ceremony.
