There are countless independent cafes, bars and restaurants in Whitley Bay. We recommend grabbing a bag of chips from Marshall’s, Longsands Fish Kitchen or Riley’s Fish Shack. You could head to The Dog and Rabbit, Fox & Finch or Gilbert & Smith's for a drink. You must not miss out on an ice cream from the award winning Di Meo’s.
There is so much to do in Whitley Bay. There are numerous outdoor play areas and even a skate park if you are that way inclined. Squeeze in a surf lesson, visit Tynemouth Boating Lake or shop on Park View, which was recently dubbed the best shopping street in Europe by The Guardian. The iconic Tynemouth Priory and Castle is well worth a visit.
