The Wedding Website of Adam Sikes and Daniel Kelley
Washington D.C. was where we found each other and fell in love! From golden hour on the Tidal Basin to snacks in Eastern Market, D.C. was our first home and the place we knew we'd get married in! Discover D.C. through some of our recommended travel tips!

Flight

Washington-Area Airports

(DCA) Reagan International Airport is our favorite airport to fly into D.C. (and the easiest)! We recommend DCA due to its direct connection to the Metro system and its proximity to downtown D.C. (IAD) Dulles International Airport is another great option, and also connected to the Metro via the Silver Line (albeit further away). (BWI) Baltimore Washington International Airport is another viable option, but does not have a direct connection to D.C. If you are flying into BWI, you will need to take a free shuttle bus from the airport to the nearby AMTRAK BWI train station. Once at the station, purchase tickets for either the AMTRAK or MARC trains in the direction of Washington Union Station. Once you arrive at Union Station, just follow the signs to the onsite Metro station!

Rental Car

Driving in D.C.

DC

As Daniel can attest after commuting into D.C. countless times to see Adam, D.C. is not car friendly! We advise all guests against planning to drive in D.C., as driving conditions may be challenging and parking can be extremely limited and expensive. If you still plan on driving in D.C., we recommend reserving overnight parking in advance as space can be limited.

Train

Washington Metro System (WMATA)

We rode the Metro together countless times while living in D.C.! From watching 4th of July fireworks on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial with Adam's brother Brian, to running from work down the escalators to catch the last train to Martinsburg to see Daniel for the weekend, the Metro gave us a great way to see each other and make memories all over the city. We highly recommend all guests consider taking the Metro as their primary mode of transportation throughout their stay. The Metro has safe, frequent, and direct access to all events throughout the weekend. No event is located more than a 10-minute's walk from a Metro station. The Metro is also highly affordable - so no need to buy a rental car! For more information about getting around on the Metro, along with fare and unlimited passes, check out the link below!

Travel Note

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle was where we met for the very first time! We ate, worshipped, strolled, relaxed, and hosted friends all in this historic neighborhood. If you're looking for a great hub for your stay in D.C., Dupont Circle is a perfect place to set up a centrally located and convenient camp! Dupont Circle is serviced by the Dupont Circle Metro station on the Red Line. Dupont Circle features a 10-min. walk to Foundry United Methodist Church and a 20-minute walk to the White House.

Hotel

The Dupont Circle Hotel

1500 New Hampshire Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20036

Adam walked by this hotel every day while heading to work - and now we're staying here during our wedding weekend! Guests do not need to stay here, but this is a great and extremely convenient option to consider if you're visiting the city!
