Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Adam Sikes and Daniel Kelley
Discover D.C. through some of our favorite spots and best memories!
Foundry United Methodist Church⛪

Foundry United Methodist Church⛪

1500 16th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20036

Foundry was the first accepting church home for either of us. Here, we worshipped together in a place that made us feel welcome as we were, and discovered the importance of our shared faith together. We loved Foundry so much that we decided to get married here! Visit Foundry UMC by taking a 10 min. walk from Dupont Circle Station, located on the Red Line.

Pitango Gelato & Coffee, Penn Quarter

Pitango Gelato & Coffee, Penn Quarter

413 7th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

We went here on our first date and kept coming back (the picture says it all)! Come here for a delicious sweet treat to wrap up a great day. Adam's favorite is the black tea gelato - he even came after work one day to pick up a specially-made pint just for him! Visit Pitango by heading to Gallery Place-Chinatown Station, located on the Red/Green/Yellow Lines.

National Mall

National Mall

Washington, DC

The National Mall was where we shared our first kiss - on our first date! Stroll through this beautiful collection of national landmarks (though we highly recommend going at night!) and experience a gorgeous way to see D.C. The National Mall is accessible via multiple Metro Stations, but we recommend heading to Smithsonian Station (located on the Blue/Silver/Orange Lines). Please note that transit options are limited around the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.

The Wharf DC

The Wharf DC

101 District Square Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

The Wharf is a great option to stay or dine! Our favorite stops here are Gordon Ramsay's Fish and Chips for a great and inexpensive bite and Bistro Du Jour for a delicious sit-down meal. For an incredible view of the Potomac with a delicious drink, head to Whiskey Charlie on the penthouse floor. Visit the Wharf by heading to Waterfront Station, located on the Green Line.

M Street Northwest (Georgetown)

M Street Northwest (Georgetown)

M Street Northwest, Washington, DC

M Street is the heart of Georgetown - filled with snacks, food, and shopping overlooking the Potomac! M Street is where we did a fair bit of shopping while living in D.C.; Adam even bought a whole wardrobe's worth of clothes in a single trip here with his friend Miranda! Georgetown is not accessible via the Metro, but is accessible by Metro buses and rideshares. If you don't mind a walk, M Street can be visited by heading to Foggy Bottom Station, located on the Orange/Blue/Silver Lines, and taking a 15-20 minute walk.

Old Post Office Tower

Old Post Office Tower

1100 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

Looking for the best view of the city but don't want to wait all day to go up the Washington Monument? Come here - coincidentally Daniel's favorite place in the whole city! Entry to the Post Office Tower is completely free and doesn't require a ticket, making it a perfect stop on any visit to Washington. Visit the Post Office Tower by heading to Federal Triangle Station, located on the Orange/Blue/Silver Lines.

Swingers Dupont Circle

Swingers Dupont Circle

1330 19th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20036

Daniel met Adam's family for the first time at this fun venue featuring an over-the-top mini golf course minutes away from where Adam lived! Head here for a fun time with friends and family (note: Swingers is 21+ only). Swingers requires an advance reservation, but has multiple drink and food offerings. Visit Swingers by heading to Dupont Circle Station, located on the Red Line.

United States National Arboretum

United States National Arboretum

3501 New York Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

Visit Adam's favorite relaxation spot in D.C. by spending some time in this quiet and underrated gem in NE D.C.! The Arboretum is a great spot for a calm picnic with loved ones - just bring a beach towel and sunscreen, and enjoy D.C.'s oasis of calm. The National Arboretum is not directly accessible via the Metro, but does have a bus stop located just 5 mins. away and is accessible via rideshare.

Prego Again

Prego Again

1617 17th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

In Dupont Circle and looking for a delicious quick bite? Visit Prego Again for some of the best sandwiches D.C. has to offer! We visited Prego Again countless times after church and on evening walks - even taking Adam's brother Brian on more than one occaision! Adam still thinks about the pork katsu sandwich several years later! Visit Prego Again by taking a 10 min. walk from Dupont Circle Station, located on the Red Line.

Tidal Basin

Tidal Basin

Washington, DC

The Tidal Basin at golden hour during cherry blossom season was one of our first dates, and where Daniel showed off his photography skills for the first time! Enjoy a beautiful view of the city as the sun goes down from the steps of the Jefferson Memorial, or from the Tidal Basin banks near the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Visit the Tidal Basin by taking a 10-15 min. walk from Smithsonian Station, located on the Orange/Blue/Silver Lines.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle

Washington, DC 20036

Dupont Circle is where some of our happiest memories were made - including our first! Visit the spot where we laid eyes on each other for the first time. Spend time walking around one of D.C.'s lovliest neighborhoods, dotted with trees and embassies - and no shortage of places to eat! Visit Dupont Circle by heading to Dupont Circle Station, located on the Red Line.

DAIKAYA

DAIKAYA

705 6th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

Dine at one of Adam's favorite places to eat in D.C. - a haven for ramen enjoyers! Daikaya was a frequent stop on any tour Adam conducted for friends and family through D.C. Visit Daikaya by heading to Gallery Place-Chinatown Station, located on the Red/Green/Yellow Lines.
