Wedding Party

Guisela Carrasco

Mother of the Bride

My mom has always been extremely dedicated to her family. I have learned so much from my mom and I hope to one day be a selfless mom just like she is. My mom was the one who had the idea to pay for piano lessons when I was nine years old and that was a pivotal moment in my life! I graduated in April 2020 with a master of music degree in Orchestral Conducting and I discovered my love for music because of her. I also owe my straight teeth to her (because she paid for the orthodontia!) and so much more! -Sara

Odiseo Cerrato

Father of the Bride

My dad always dreamed big and he wanted to give his children every opportunity to succeed. He had the idea to transfer me to a bilingual school so I could learn English because he knew it would be important in our lives; that decision he made twenty years ago turned out to be crucial for my life. I have seen him sacrifice so much for his family, for me. He has supported me in my crazy projects (he payed for all my German classes!) and always made everyone in the family laugh with his good humor! -Sara

Renita Heyen

Mother of the Groom

My mom is exceptional. Loving others always seems to come easy for her, and it is easy to love her as well. She was passionate in raising her 5 kids. She loves dedicating herself to serving others, whether it is part of a calling in the Church or simply an act of friendship. Alongside my dad she has served two full-time missions, one in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the other in New York City. I love her for who she is and what she does for me as my mom. - Adam

David Heyen

Father of the Groom

I'll always look up to my dad as an example of a loving and dedicated father. Like my mom, he is always thinking about how he can serve others, and when his next mission will be. In fact, seeing him and my mom go on missions together really inspires me to do the same with Sara in the future. My dad also has an arsenal of dad jokes which, when unleashed, typically result in nervous chuckles from my siblings as well as eye rolls from my mom. - Adam

Odeth Cerrato

Maid of Honor

There was no one else who could be my Maid of Honor but my sister, Odeth. We shared a room for sixteen years and have had lots of great moments and epic fights along the way. She has done so much to make our dream wedding possible! -Sara

Carlos Palomares

Best Man

Carlos is a great friend of mine. We served as missionary companions in 2014, and we were also roommates at BYU-Idaho. Together we have experienced fun times and hard times, and through it all he has always encouraged me to be the best I can be. He is also the most obnoxious person I know. Never trust anything he tells you. I'm serious. - Adam

Stephanie Vilorio

Bridesmaid

Even though our dads have been friends their entire lives, I didn’t really meet Stephanie until my late teens. We’ve since tried to make up for lost time and Stephanie has been an incredible friend; she has been a really important part of my life and has always made me feel loved and at home. This day would not be the same without her and her beautiful family. -Sara

Kenneth Heyen

Groomsman

Kenny is my one and only brother. He and his wife Cassandra have two kids with one on the way. Over the years, Kenny has left me with lots of brotherly advice as well as tons of hand-me-downs. He is a software engineer specializing in cybersecurity. - Adam

Vanessa Duran

Bridesmaid

I’ve known Vanessa since I was 3. We are only 10 months apart so we’ve done most things around the same time. Vanessa has been an exceptional friend to me and has always been extremely supportive of everything I do; she always gets excited about my life and boosts my self esteem. She is truly wonderful; no one could ever ask for a better friend. -Sara

A. Odiseo Cerrato

Groomsman

As Sara's youngest brother, Odiseo was honorably inducted into our prestigious groomsman clan. I first met Odiseo over the phone, right before he was going to leave on a date. I didn't hear much about how that went--so, if you're single and ready to mingle with a charming personality, be sure to speak with Odiseo at the reception! Tell him Adam sent you. - Adam

Fabiola Duran

Bridesmaid

Fabiola is traveling all the way from Honduras to Provo, UT to come to the wedding -That is real dedication!- And that is a perfect example of the type of friend she has been to me. Fabiola and her sister, Vanessa (another of my bridesmaids), have been there for every special moment in my life. We dreamed and promised each other to be there for our temple sealings; two years ago I was able to travel to her sealing in El Salvador and now she is fulfilling her part of the deal and she will be there for mine.

Erik Knighton

Groomsman

Erik and I have been buddies since I was about age 7. We have bonded over many years of hanging out, going on trips in the Pacific Northwest, and being ridiculous around each other. Three years ago, he personally took me to the emergency room in Provo after I face-planted on concrete and broke my elbow. That's friendship. - Adam

Katherine Lee

Bridesmaid

I met Katherine when I was around 11 years old but we really became friends when we were roommates (for about 2 years!) at BYU-Idaho. She would always come to my concerts and we would spend a lot of time together; she would come and do homework while I was practicing cello and she never complained about it (haha!) I have so many fond memories with Katherine. I’m so grateful she’s coming from Nevada for our special day. -Sara

Nathan Dixon

Groomsman

Nathan is another old friend of mine. We did scouting together and have shared many fun times. Nathan once punched me in the face and almost knocked me out, for fun. He also once threw his own birthday party at my house without me, and then later, after I had shown up, the police were called to investigate a disturbance in the neighborhood caused by a group of loud teenagers. Nathan is a really great guy. - Adam

Katie Bell

Bridesmaid

Katie (or Katie Pie as I call her!) is so amazing. We were roommates at BYU-Idaho for a a few semesters and life was always fun with her. She has been so encouraging and kind to me and I even drove with her to visit her family in California twice! But most importantly she was always there for me when things got tough and there was no way I could remain sad when she was around. -Sara

Skyler Sharp

Groomsman

Skyler is a long time friend of mine, whom I got to know when we were about age 10 I think. He is two days older than me. One time, Skyler broke down the door to my sister's bedroom during an intense pillow fight between him, Erik and I. Also, Skyler once shot out the lower portion of my front tooth with an airsoft rifle. Erik, Skyler and I have since moved to different states for safety reasons. - Adam

Derek Heyen

Ring Bearer

Derek received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy at Columbia University in 2019. He has received many awards for his publications, including the Fernando Gil International Prize for the Philosophy of Science, the Friedrich Nietsche Prize, and the Kyoto Prize in Arts and Philosophy. His most recent publication on the nature of identity and being won him the Meister Eckhart Prize, and has been called "one of the most groundbreaking thought experiments produced after Heidegger." Since being nominated for 2019 Best Heyen Nephew or Grandchild, it made complete sense that he would have the honor of being our Ring Bearer.
