Rental Car
Transportation on the island is limited. So, to get everyone where they need to go we're hoping that those who can will arrange carpooling. Please take 5 mins to fill out this form by April 10th (regardless of your plans).
Flight
The best airport to fly into is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) AKA SeaTac airport. From there you can either take the light rail train to the Ferry Terminal and walk onto the Bainbridge Ferry (see Taking Public Transit from Seatac below for details) or you can rent a car and drive onto the Bainbridge Ferry (25 minute drive from the airport). *IMPORTANT NOTE* For those walking onto the ferry: once on the island transportation options are fewer. Be sure to book any transportation on the island (e.g. cab, Uber/Lyft or carpooling) ahead of time, especially if you are planning to go directly from Bainbridge to the airport on Sunday morning. It may be difficult to find a ride at the last minute. We also recommend you carpool if possible. Once you get off the ferry in Seattle there should be easy access to Ubers/Lyfts.
Travel Note
HELPFUL TIP: We recommend using the Spot Saver website (see below) to reduce your time at the airport. This allows you to reserve a spot at the front of the TSA line for FREE. You can reserve this within four days of your departure. Since TSA lines can be very long on Sundays (as long as an hour), we strongly recommend this if you don’t already have TSA pre-check.
Travel Note
STEP 1: Travel from airport to Seattle Ferry Terminal (801 Alaskan Way/Pier 52). You have two options: Option 1: Take an Uber/Lyft/taxi (cost: $50-$70) directly to Seattle Ferry Terminal Option 2: Take the Link Light Rail (cost ~$3) to the Pioneer Square Station, then walk .4 miles to Seattle Ferry Terminal. Step-by-Step Instructions: *From baggage claim, go up one floor. Cross the sky bridge and turn left. Follow signs to Link Light Rail Station. *Take Link for 35 mins/10 stops and exit at Pioneer Square Station (next stop after International Dist/Chinatown Station). *Walk 0.4 miles to Seattle Ferry Terminal. STEP 2: Take the ferry to Bainbridge Island (35 minutes). The cost is ~$10.25 and you can use credit card. Ferries run throughout the day hourly. See Ferry Schedule for more info. Since you won’t be taking a car, you typically only need to arrive 15-30 minutes before the ferry. (You can often arrive even closer to departure if you’re moving quickly.) STEP 3: Travel from Bainbridge Island ferry to the wedding. More information will be shared soon. NOTE: we do NOT recommend taking Uber/Lyft from the airport directly to the Island. It’s a 2-hour drive and will cost at least $200.
Travel Note
To get to Bainbridge Island from Seattle, you’ll want to take the ferry from Downtown Seattle - from the Seattle Ferry Terminal (Colman Dock) at Pier 52, which is several blocks south of Pike Place Market. The Washington State ferries are impressive ships and the ride from Seattle to Bainbridge is very scenic. It is a quick 35 minute trip from Seattle and the cost is ~$23.31 for a car and its driver. The cost for ferry passengers walking on (or additional passengers in a car) is ~$10.25. If you are walking onto the ferry you will need to purchase a ticket at the ticket booth, note that walk-ons only pay one way (Seattle to Bainbridge) and don't need to purchase a ticket on the return trip (Bainbridge to Seattle). All tickets offer discounts for those who are 65+, 18 and under, or those with disabilities. For those driving on, note that vehicle reservations are not available and cars are loaded on a first come first served basis. Please be aware that the ferry can be very busy and run late, particularly on Fridays and weekends. We recommend coming to the island early as the boats are often 30-60 minutes behind. If you are driving a car, you will need to plan 2-3 hours for the journey as the ferries fill the car section very quickly and you may miss 1-2 boats depending on how busy they are. If you plan to stay in Seattle and just come over for the wedding, we do not recommend driving on the ferry. You can walk onto the ferry and bypass the car lines. An alternative is driving around through Tacoma, the drive to Bainbridge from Seattle is about 2 hours. The boats stop running at around 1am and then start up again around 4am so please keep that in mind if you are arriving late. If you can manage to book lodging on Bainbridge then you will have a much easier time planning for the day of the wedding. We've included recommended lodging options below that are on Bainbridge and don't require a ferry ride to get to the venue.

Hotel
The Inn at Pleasant Beach offers lodging at our wedding venue. It has a two-night minimum, pet friendly rooms, and a variety of charming room options. We have blocked rooms for Friday night 5/30 through to Sunday morning 6/1. They range in cost from $360-410 per night. These will be available on a first come, first served basis. Please reach out to Adam or Evan if you are interested in booking at the Inn: if you try to book it online on your own it will appear that no rooms are available due to our wedding block being in place for all rooms. Note: to receive our group rate, rooms must be booked no later than February 20th .
Hotel
The hotel is a 10 minute walk to downtown Bainbridge where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and things to do. It is also a short drive (or a longer walk) from the Ferry Terminal. It is across the street from Safeway and the Safeway shopping center and about a ten minute drive to the venue. Many of the rooms are on the larger side and have small kitchenettes. A complementary breakfast is included. Its location is not the most picturesque (the gas station is next door and shopping center (with a good pub) is across the street) and the interior is unfussy. However, it is a solid option. To place a reservation call to let them know the last names for the wedding block (this cannot be done online). Note that check-in time is not before 4pm (which is the time of the ceremony on Saturday) so plan accordingly.
Travel Note
Bainbridge has some wonderful homes to rent on Airbnb or VRBO, ranging from cottages for two to large homes. However, they will likely get booked out so we suggest planning far in advance if this is your preferred lodging option. Of the available lodging some of these rentals might be the best value for your money - particularly if you are planning to book lodging with others. Our wedding will take place in the Lynwood Center neighborhood on the southwestern side of the island, so please keep that in mind when booking.
