The Wedding Website of Alexandra DiBattista and Christian Rombos
Our wedding venue is located in Monopoli, Puglia, Italy, which is one of the areas we recommend staying in. We hope the information below is helpful in planning your trip but please reach out to either of us if you have any questions. We are happy to help make this experience as seamless as possible!

Flight

Getting Here

If you are travelling directly from Canada, we recommend flying into the Rome airport (FCO). From there, Puglia is serviced by the Bari airport (BRI), Brindisi airport (BDS), or the Bari Centrale train station. If you are travelling from elsewhere in Europe, you can check to see which of the above options to get to Puglia makes the most sense with your travel plans.

Rental Car

Moving Around

While it is not necessary to rent a car for wedding festivities, we recommend doing so if you plan on travelling around the Puglia region before or after the wedding. There are many beautiful small towns and beaches to explore, which will be easiest to do with a vehicle! Major car rental brands (Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, etc) are available at the airports and the train station mentioned above. We recommend booking your car as early as possible for the best pricing.

Travel Note

Taxi Information

If you prefer not to rent a car, you can use taxi services to get around as there is no Uber in Puglia. Our wedding venue has recommended the following taxi company: Rent All Monopoli +39 339 289 7726

Hotel

Staying Here

The closest town to our venue is Monopoli (8 minutes). Another nearby town is Polignano a Mare (12 minutes). In both of these areas you will find plenty of boutique hotels, apartments, and Airbnbs. These are great areas to stay if you are looking for a lively, seaside town with many shops, restaurants, and cultural experiences within walking distance. You will also find many masserias (which translates to farmhouse) in the countryside. These types of complexes are common in the Puglia region, and are well-suited if you are looking for a rustic and peaceful stay. There is likely to be a restaurant and pool on site, as these types of accommodations are not typically within walking distance of other amenities. Regardless of the accommodation type you are looking for, you can check websites such as: Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb, and Vrbo. We recommend booking early as this is a busy travel time and a popular location for Italians to take their vacations.

Travel Note

Wedding Day Transportation

We are pleased to provide transportation for all guests on our wedding day. This includes both to and from the ceremony, as well as to and from the reception. Ceremony Transportation: A shuttle bus will leave from the town of Monopoli at 3:00 P.M. The pickup point will be Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Monopoli BA. Post-Reception Transportation: Shuttle busses will be available following the reception. Please provide us with your hotel address upon RSVP so that we can organize drop-off locations. We will aim to drop you off as close to your accommodation as possible.

Train

Moving Around

If you prefer not to rent a car, the larger towns in the region are accessible by train. The national rail provider in Italy is Trenitalia, which has a line that runs across the Puglia region. There are regional trains and buses to access smaller towns, but this will be more complex and time consuming. The link below provides a breakdown of public transportation in Puglia.
