We're Getting Married! Join us as we celebrate life and love...

From Isabel I first met Akil in November of 2010 when I started working in Goldman. I remember the first day we met; I came around the corner and saw this guy sitting quietly and focused at his desk doing his work. He propped his head up like a turtle and smiled from ear to ear. We were introduced and from that moment on we became great friends at work. Fast forward to February 2015: Akil sent me a text and invited me out to dinner that Saturday night and I said yes, not realizing it was Valentine's Day! (LOL). What are the odds? Nonetheless, it was my good friend and I thought, Why not?! The funny thing is I almost didn't make it to the dinner due to me being stuck in an elevator at the mall! (LOL!!!) Thankfully, he too was running late so it was meant to be. Something changed after that as our friendship grew and we fell in love and the rest is history. It's amazing how God puts people in your path and changes your life. Never did I imagine I would be planning a wedding with Akil. I am so looking forward to July 2019 when I get to marry my love and best friend! From Akil I was on the Facility Management Engineering team at Goldman Sachs and was introduced to Isabel as I was busily working at my desk. When I popped up from my computer screen and saw her a spark was ignited as we said hello and I knew she was going to be someone special to me yet I did not know how or in what way. After that moment, as we began to get to know one another we had an instant connection which developed into friendship. From our friendship grew an admiration and trust for one another however it was not until early February 2015 when we went out for dinner on Valentine's Day that I discovered that there was something there that wasn't there before. As our relationship grew our friendship turned into love. I'm excited to start this next step of the rest of our lives together and grateful to have our family and friends a part of our celebration.

After 7 years of friendship and 2 1/2 years in a relationship we arrive at a New Year's Eve 2017 dinner. Good food, great friends, loud music....and a nervous looking Akil. Yes, something was definitely up! We stepped outside of the noisy ballroom and into the lobby. While I looked around trying to figure out why Akil brought me outside, I realized that all of our friends sitting at our table followed us out. Turning back to Akil he started his proposal and there goes a 5 foot 10 inch Akil onto his knee, making a speech that I boisterously laughed the whole way through! I was nervous and of course, I said yes.
