Mike and Deanna have been dating for eight and a half years, and want to spend the rest of their lives together. They're polyamorous, so to align with their values, they will not be getting legally married at this time, because marriage in this country is something you can only do with one person at a time. As such, legal marriage privilege monogamous relationships, and that is not the kind of relationship we have! However, it's still important to Mike and Deanna to be public about their relationship, and to make it clear that they are part of each other's families. In order to ritualize their commitment to each other (and throw a fun party for their friends and family), they will be having a commitment ceremony!
