FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jason Dang and Kristen Santiago
Here you can find any questions regarding to the wedding!!
Question

Will this be an indoor or outdoor event?

Answer

Due to Texas's unpredictable weather, meaning it could be 70 to 30 degrees within the same day, majority of our wedding will be indoors with exception to Cocktail Hour. Please bring a coat, jacket, shawl, etc. in the event of such weather. It also would be helpful to stay updated on the weather beforehand.

Question

What is the dress attire?

Answer

Cocktail attire/semi formal. Imagine going to a fancy dinner, but comfortable enough to dance! E.g. little black dresses, dressy jumpsuits, dark slacks, a suit, and ties are optional. No jeans or short sleeved button ups 👀

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we would love to have your little ones, this will be an adults only event. With the exception of our family and those part of the Bridal Party. Plus we want to see you guys have fun!!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of parking right at the venue.

Question

I have a food allergy/diet restriction, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please make note of any dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

No. Since we've been living together for quite some time now, we do not have much of a registry and have everything we need for our home. In our culture's customs and traditions, money is often gifted to the bride and groom as a wedding present in a red envelope known as a "Li Xi". This is seen as a symbol of wishing prosperity, health, and happiness to the couple. Traditionally, this gift is presented to the couple during what is called a "table greet" during the reception. As a back up, Kristen did put a few things on the registry.

Question

Table greet? What is that?

Answer

A table greet, or chào bàn, is a chance for the bride and groom to greet each of their guest. During the reception as dinner is served, the couple will make their way to each table to exchange pleasantries and gratitude for attending. Normally, the table selects a "representative" to give a quick speech/toast to the newlyweds. At this time, the "Li Xi" (red envelopes) and gifts are presented to the couple. But wait! There's more! For a fun spin, guests may create a task or game for the couple to complete or do in order to receive the Li Xi; such as a drinking game or a simple shared kiss between the two.
