For those who love pastries, this is the spot.
Pick up some pastries from Wayfarer and head over here! The waters are breathtaking, and a big plus is you can usually find less populated areas if you want to swim without the typical beachgoer crowd.
Bride's order (and recommendation): cinnamon roll pancakes with a side of hashbrowns, flat and crispy. You won't be sorry.
Bride loves French toast, and this is one of her top two spots in all of San Diego. They also serve lunch and dinner!
Walking around La Jolla in itself is a fun experience. You've got the cove, the caves, the seals, the shops. You can wander around for a couple hours at least. And of course, the water is beautiful, so it gives you the opportunity to marvel at the creation of God :) I'd start out at Ellen Browning Scripps Park in La Jolla Cove, which is the address given here (conveniently located next to Brockton Villa 😉), and make your way around from there. For those who'd like a little more adventure, make your way over to La Jolla Shores, and you'll find options for kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling tours!
Random Afghan spot in the heart of La Jolla for those who are craving some mantu and kabuli pulao. It's zabiha!
Chicken tenders are zabiha! (but not the wings)
A fun activity for both adults and kids! They even let you touch some of the tidepool animals 😮. It's also on the more affordable side! We all know San Diego is expensive :/
End the day with ice cream and crêpes! Conveniently located right beside both dinner options. This Palestinian-owned establishment serves Van Leeuwen ice cream, which is sourced from their home base in NYC. For the New Yorkers reading this, you may have tasted the ice cream before :)
The other spot with the best French toast!
The location of Bride and Groom's "first date" :) So many places to explore here: go for a walk, peruse the museums, visit the botanical garden, watch the performers, and take the kids for a train ride and spin on the merry go round! And if you're willing to drop 70 bucks per person 😅, the San Diego Zoo is right next door.
Fun activity for the kids, but parents can also partake and enjoy :)
Groom has informed Bride that this is not true pizza, but if you're feeling like halal pepperoni on pizza, this is what we got :)
No zabiha options here, but more "authentic" and definitely a good slice of cheese or veggie pizza.
Nice area with shops and views! You can also purchase tickets to take a ferry from Broadway Pier (couple minutes walk from Seaport) to Coronado and explore the Island (link to tickets below)!
Right on the water, so you enjoy good food with a view :)
Everyone knows, you go to San Diego, you go to Extraordinary Desserts. Which means that it's always good, and it's always packed. So, in case you're struggling to find parking at this one, there's also a location nearby in Bankers Hill. Bride and Best Friend spent two hours looking once because they refused to pay for parking, smh. Don't be like them.
Our favorite ice cream spot in San Diego!! Bride's order: brown butter pecan. Groom's order: ube + pandesal toffee. Can't go wrong with either or any of their flavors for that matter!
If you're looking for a good zabiha option and are willing to venture out, the food here is quality and plentiful. Groom did not believe Bride about how plentiful the food is, so Bride and Parents ate leftovers for an entire week.
If you went with Mal Al Sham and want something sweet that's nearby, this is the place to go. They've got rich and refreshing options, so you can experience both!
Nothing specific to write home about, but the food overall is good quality and Bride and Family and Friends have enjoyed this restaurant (in different locations) many times.
So many cool varieties of plants. Another amazing place to marvel at God's Creation. There are also some fun play spots for the kids inside!
This one is expensive, but Bride can attest to it being a grand ole time, even as an adult :) Could be fun for those with kids to coordinate a group outing! It's a full day thing, so if you opt for this, scratch the other activities for this day.
Amazing tacos. We recommend the Camaron (with lots of cilantro salsa!) 😋
Fun for everyone! You could also do real golf at this Del Mar Golf Center, but we think mini golfing is more fun :)
Bride’s best friend's favorite spot, and she’s a sushi connoisseur :)
Can't say that we've tried this place before, but Groom loves Japanese cheesecake, so it's probably good? 😬
