Malcesine is a little town right on Lake Garda, with beautiful water, big mountains, and a castle that looks like it showed up from a storybook. We’re so excited to share it with you. The town is small and very hilly, which means there’s lots of walking. July is also peak tourist season, so expect warm weather, busy streets, and the occasional mystery when it comes to air conditioning :) For families: there’s a little playground in town, and the lake is lovely for swimming or splashing around. Kids also tend to be very motivated by gelato, which is everywhere, so that helps. Getting there: Verona is the closest major city. You can take a taxi from the airport or the train station (Verona Porta Nuova). It takes a little over an hour to get to Malcesine. Milan and Venice usually have more flight options from the States. Both are about 2.5–3 hours away from Malcesine. Malcesine is gorgeous and so special. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who is able to make it!
