Wedding Info/FAQs

In 1992, Abbey's parents got married at the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg and celebrated afterwards at the Hotel Morgan. A few years later in 1997, her aunt and uncle followed suit, thus beginning a sort of unofficial family tradition. George's great-grandfather, Chapman Revercomb, served as a U.S. Senator for West Virginia in the 1940's, and George and his family have enjoyed some of their happiest moments further south on Cheat Mountain. We felt that hosting the reception in the wild and wonderful WV would be dually meaningful!
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal/Cocktail Attire

Question

What is on the menu?

Answer

You will have the choice of either Sundried Tomato & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breast, Sliced Smoked Beef Brisket, or Spinach & Mozzarella Stuffed Portabella Mushroom Cap with Balsamic Drizzle. Please place your initial(s) by your choice on your RSVP and return via mail.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited seating arrangements at our reception venue, invitations are limited to specified guests only. Therefore, we must ask our guests to not RSVP for a plus one unless their invitation specifically identifies a guest on the addressed envelope. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love children, but our venue does not have the space to accommodate them. If your children are not members of the wedding party, we kindly ask that you take this as an opportunity to have a "parents’ night out" and enjoy an evening of relaxation as you celebrate with us!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The wedding ceremony starts at 4:30 at the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg in Waynesburg, PA. This is approximately a 35 minute drive from Morgantown, WV. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early in the event of traffic! Please note that the church is surrounded by one-way streets, so pay attention to signs. There is a parking lot at the corner of N. Richhill Street and 1st Alley, to the west of the church. There is also on-street parking alongside and in front of the church and around the nearby parks. Please allow space in front of the church for the wedding party to arrive.

Question

Where should I park for the reception?

Answer

Either self parking or valet parking is included for guests who are staying at the Hotel Morgan. Guests who are not staying at the Hotel Morgan may ask the valet attendant for a dash pass that will permit them to park in city lots C or D or they may utilize the valet parking for $15.00 (cash only).

Question

Can I take photos at the cermony?

Answer

We have hired professional photographers to capture moments on our special day. We ask that you do not take pictures during the wedding ceremony; we want to see your beautiful faces experiencing the moment along with us! At the wedding reception, feel free to capture moments, but be sure to upload them to our shared Google album!
