We met our freshman year at Taylor University. We were in the same orientation group for the first semester of school. During welcome weekend there are many different events for all the freshman on campus. Abby was coming back from a tournament and was late (per usual). She sat down next to me for the opening event. From there, our small group walked to the local ice cream shop. We talked the entire way there and back. There was an instant connection (at least for Abby) and we started dating very shortly after meeting.
Throughout our three years together, we have been on many different date-nights. One of our favorites was visiting the Gas City Petting Zoo. Yes, in our tiny little college town with one stop light; there is a small petting zoo that we both loved. The park that is attached to the zoo has a small gazebo located on the edge of the pond that is in the center of the park. Noah (with a little help from our photographer) strung small lights around the gazebo, and laid pink rose petals all around the floor, and made a path that I would walk through to get to him. It was drizzling as I walked up to the gazebo, I threw my umbrella and honestly cannot remember a single thing that Noah said, but he got on one knee and asked me to be his wife forever!
