The Proposal

October 5, 2019

Abigal had decided on the ring she wanted, but she didn't know the proposal would take place. She knew Nicholas was a planner and she would try to guess when the proposal would be. At one point, she even guessed the correct date! Nicholas, with the help of their friends and family, was determined to throw her off. They would drop hints about some future date when the proposal would be. Nicholas made sure to pick a special date for the proposal - a bye week for his Texas A&M Aggie football team. Their friends, Seth and Kayla, asked if they could do a double date at one of the restaurants in Trinity Groves, a "restaurant incubator." Before their scheduled dinner, Nicholas planned a day of all her favorite things: hanging out at the pool, visiting a brewery, and of course, eating french fries. Prior to dinner, they planned to go to mass. Little did they know that it would involve a baptism, first communion, and multiple announcements. Even though they were running late for dinner/when the photographer was scheduled to be there, Kayla and Seth kept up the ruse by saying they were running late. Nicholas suggested that he and Abigal walk over the bridge near Trinity Groves (something Abigal had wanted to do for some time). They talked as they walked along and once they walked past the photographer, Nicholas knew it was game time. He dropped down on a knee and of course, Abigal said yes! The evening's surprise wasn't over yet - as they drove to "see his parents", Nicholas suggested they stop by a brewery for a celebratory drink. As they walked in, Abigal was surprised to see friends and family there to celebrate their engagement!
