It was a typical, quiet, February evening. Abby, exhausted from a long day of teaching, had just settled down on the couch. She was determined to find the handsome, salt and peppered bearded man she had accidentally scrolled past on the popular dating app, Hinge, a couple nights prior. She swiped "no" on every man she came across, until, lo and behold, there he was, donning a baseball hat and a contemplative look, while driving a jeep Wrangler. Instead of asking a question or sending something witty, she opted to start the message with something simple. "Hi Scott :)" she sent. Scott responded immediately: "Wow! Hi. There you are :)". And just like that, their fast paced yet calm and steady love story began. They fell for each other while hiking over mountain peaks and through waterfall filled valleys, sitting as close as they could get to one another sipping old fashioned on bar stools in five star restaurants and in dimmed corners of local dive bars, while strolling side by side along the Rivanna River, and while sipping wine on Abby's balcony, her legs strewn across Scott's lap as the fireflies came out and the sun set behind them. They knew by the end of their magical, whirlwind trip to Savannah, Georgia that they would spend the rest of their lives together, and on December 30th, Scott got down on one knee in a very special spot in the mountains, on a frigid, crystal clear, blue sky day. And that's where you come in, friends.
