A bit random, right? Actually, it’s part of their favorite love story - how they met. Marcello suggested the book The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann to Abigail during the first evening they met. Abigail quickly read it and it helped solidify her crush on Marcello. He actually visited the Schatzalp Hotel during a trip to Bayreuth just weeks after they met as well, which made him seem like a total bad ass (and of course he is).

The Berghotel Schatzalp lies on a sun terrace high above Davos. The sourrounding area of the hotel is car-free, but with the Schatzalp funicular you get easily directly from the city center of Davos Platz to the hotel. The wedding ceremony, reception, and breakfast the next day all take place at the same location! Most guests are flying to Milan or Zurich and taking public transportation to get to Davos Platz. If you are renting a car, there is paid parking at the base of the funicular for 20 CHF per day.
One lovely mid-July evening in NYC, Alek Lucke was visiting and invited Marcello and Abigail to meet up with him for dinner. Little did Alek know, both would end up making it. What was expected to be a brief outing at the Marlton Hotel, turned into hours of chatting about books, music, and travel.
