Just 30 minutes past Lyons - Estes Park is a beautiful Colorado town, especially in fall. In October, you might be able to catch the tail end of "leaf peeping" season, and spot some Elk enjoying the downtown area. If you are looking to extend your stay, we would highly recommend spending some time here for a traditional mountain town feel. You are minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park, delicious restaurants, and surrounded by majestic mountains. Our favorite restaurant here is Bird & Jim's and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the lake.
The CU Buffaloes will be playing Utah on Saturday, October 17th. It is parent's weekend so expect higher prices and a packed stadium, but know it will be worth it! CU has the best college football tradition, watching Ralphie run around the field prior to kickoff is truly a magical experience. Not to mention, another spot with beautiful mountain views. Sko Buffs!!!
Catch the CU parade, watch talented street performers, shop for souvenirs, or people watch with some delicious food. Pearl Street has it all.
A fun fall activity! Go pick some apples, see the farm animals or taste some fresh cider. Tickets must be purchased in advance for fall festivities.
Take the Peak to Peak highway from Lyons to Nederland for delicious brews and BBQ! Another quaint mountain town with sweeping views.
