For those who are interested in hiking, the Blue Ridge Mountains are a real treat. There are gorgeous waterfalls like Looking Glass Falls and a swimming hole with a natural slide called Sliding Rock. You can also just drive up there and take in the view--it's well worth it.
A natural water slide in the Pisgah!
This is where we'll have the welcome party, but worth checking out later if you can't make it then (or even if you can!).
If you know, you know. If you don't, you should! Southern fast food at its finest. Try the dirty rice.
Delicious Italian right near downtown
A natural air conditioner and a pretty beautiful site in the Pisgah.
This place has darts and delicious beers and it's right in the heart of downtown Brevard. Their original location is on the Pisgah Highway, so try that one if you're headed for a hike!
Great little coffee shop with some light food and art for sale!
An excellent little breakfast and lunch spot. Cute bookstore next door too.
An outdoors store...with a little bar upstairs. Kind of a theme in Brevard. It's a fun spot!
Head to this spot at the end of your hike. It's a local favorite and one of ours too! They usually have food trucks outside and there's an incredible ice cream shop called Dolly's next door.
Such good ice cream! Even Ab likes it and she does not like dessert somehow.
If you conquer all the trails in the Pisgah, hit up the Dupont! Lots of good swimming holes and waterfalls here too.
New hip coffee shop in town! Delicious drinks served by sweet folks who make a darn good quiche too.
