Justin and Abby met in Professor Kogan's Contract class in their 1L year at S.J. Quinney College of Law in the Fall of 2015. As Abby was shuffling to her seat, Justin casually asked - "Hi! Your name is Abby, right?" They struck up a friendship that ultimately led to a well-coordinated Halloween costume based off of the socially pervasive term "Netflix and Chill". Justin claims that Abby didn't know what it meant but the costume was a hit and their friendship continued. They talked and Facebooked and texted and snapchatted and bought each other lunches and studied together and ran errands and visited animal humane centers. Suddenly, winter break started and they both went to their respective homes in New York and Albuquerque.
Abby and Justin started dating in January, 2016. They continued through their 1L and 2L years over which they celebrated anniversaries, moved into different apartments, met each others families, and adopted their two adorable puppies. Then, in 2017 they moved into their first apartment together in downtown SLC (unfortunately it did not have a wine fridge). Besides a few scuffles, their dogs became best brothers and their tiny fam was officially blended! 3L year was tough but they got through it together and were extremely excited to graduate on May 11th, 2018, to celebrate with their families, and then to move to their new home in Phoenix, Arizona.
On May 11th, 2018, Abby and Justin graduated from law school! Justin convinced Abby to hire a photographer for the afternoon and at the end of the photo session, Justin suggested that they take a few pictures on the roof of the law school. Abby was suspicious ... and hungry ... and not a fan of the light drizzle but went along with it. As they posed for another picture, Justin started telling Abby beautiful things about their friendship and love for each other and then he bent down on one knee and proposed! (Honestly, Abby kind of blacked out once she put things together but she remembers everything that she felt and that's good enough for her!) So, they got engaged, they were awarded with their JDs, they celebrated with their families, and then they moved to Phoenix! So, now they're here, ready to get married, and ready to celebrate with you!
