Flight

Kutaisi,Batumi, or Tbilisi international Airports

There are no direct flights from the United States to Georgia, so all trips will include one connection, usually through a major European city such as Istanbul, Frankfurt, Vienna, Warsaw, or London. The closest and most convenient airport is Kutaisi International Airport (KUT), located about 20–30 minutes from the city, with connections through Europe. Another great option is Tbilisi International Airport (TBS), Georgia’s largest airport with the most international flights; from Tbilisi, Kutaisi is about a 4-hour drive or bus ride. Batumi International Airport (BUS) is also an option, especially if flights are cheaper or you plan to visit the coast, and is about 3–4 hours from Kutaisi.

Travel Note

Transportation

Getting around Kutaisi and other parts of Georgia is easy with ride-hailing apps like Bolt and Yandex Go. Both apps allow you to book taxis quickly and conveniently. You can pay with cash directly to the driver or attach your credit/debit card in the app for a cashless experience. Having some cash on hand is recommended in case you need it for smaller rides, tips, or places that don’t accept cards.
