Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Abel Tan and Ana Athas
For many of you, this will be your first visit to Malaysia. While we encourage you to explore the rich history and geography of the country through your preferred search engine, we have some recommendations to enhance your experience. Navigating the city is quite convenient with Grab, a ridesharing app similar to Uber or Lyft. We recommend downloading the app and linking it to your payment methods before arriving in Malaysia. Traveling between cities may require a bit more planning and research. Bus services are typically needed to travel to and from my hometown. We suggest spending 2 to 3 days in Abel's hometown, Batu Pahat, to fully appreciate its charm. Additionally, there are several fascinating destinations within a couple of hours' drive, including Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and even Singapore. For those eager to explore further, nearby countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia offer exciting opportunities for adventure.
Gerai Nasi Lemak Ali | Hawker Stall

Gerai Nasi Lemak Ali | Hawker Stall

Jalan Engan, Batu Pahat, Johor 83000, Malaysia

One of my favorite spot for one of Malaysia's claim to fame - Nasi Lemak dish! Definitely not a place to go for "vibes" but if you do not mind eating at an alley between buildings that does not look hygienic, you are in for a treat!

Pasar Pagi Jalan Ibrahim

Pasar Pagi Jalan Ibrahim

Jalan Ibrahim, Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Ta'zim 83000, Malaysia

Outdoor dry and wet market that is very fun to experience, a change of experience for those that grew up shopping in groceries shops for groceries. There are lots of places and interesting older building to walk around and experience.

Restoran BP Bariani Power

18 Jalan Tukas 2, Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Ta'zim 83000, Malaysia

If you enjoy some biryani, this place has amazing biryani with plenty of other Malay dishes to try as well.

1.12 Coffee | 1點12咖啡

112 Jalan Rahmat, Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Ta'zim 83000, Malaysia

This is a great place to visit for some coffee. Generally there are plenty of coffee/tea shops to visit. A few others that are good are Louver Brewer, Wooden Box, 9% Coffee, Chagee, Rengit Coffee, Aoberhang...

Batu Pahat Mall - BP Mall

Jalan Kluang, Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Ta'zim 83000, Malaysia

A place to go to when the weather gets too hot, there are food, clothing shops, grocery shops...to visit

For all the days along the way
