One of our favorite hiking spots! If you're not in the mood to hike, you can drive up to Panorama Point and get an amazing view of the Continental Divide. If you want to do an easy hike, we recommend the Raccoon Trail. If you're looking for more of a challenge, try hiking up to Windy Peak. There is a Daily State Park Pass that you will need to purchase. You can purchase it online or stop by the Visitor Center before you hike. Don’t forget to print or grab a trail map at the Visitor Center!
This is where we had our engagement photos done! The aspens should be at their peak color at the end of September and there is a spectacular view of the mountains. No need to hike to take in the views, but there are some trails you can explore. Traffic can get pretty crazy and backed up with other “leaf peepers” so plan accordingly.
One of our favorite hikes! It is mostly uphill on the way to the summit, but the views at the top are breathtaking. No need to purchase a park pass, parking is on the side of the road. I would recommend getting there early, as it does get crowded. NOTE: There are no restrooms at this trailhead.
Of course, we can't leave out Rocky Mountain National Park! You will need a FULL DAY to explore this park, as it is a bit of a drive. You will need to purchase a National Park Pass AND a timed entry pass. Both can be found on the National Park website. For hiking, Bierstadt Lake is one of our favorites. This trail is challenging at the beginning, so take it slow and easy on the way up (there is plenty to look at). The Gem Lake Trail is another good one too. If you just want cruise through the mountains, take Trail Ridge Road through the park. There are plenty of places to pull off and take in the views of the Rockies.
Colorado is know for it's many breweries, why not take a tour of one of the biggest ones!
