Flight
There are two airport options for getting to San Miguel de Allende: QRO (suggested) and BJX. Flight prices can vary depending on where you're flying from, so we suggest checking both airports to see what works best for you. *Note: QRO is a smaller airport, but is closer to San Miguel.*
Travel Note
We don’t recommend renting a car—San Miguel is very walkable and parking can be tricky. For airport transfers, we recommend using BajioGo. You can book by filling out a form on their website, sending an email, or calling their U.S. line at (202) 609-9905. Shared shuttles to and from QRO and BJX to San Miguel typically cost around $30 USD per person one-way, and private transfers are also available—just reach out to them for current pricing. Both airports are about 1 to 1.5 hours from San Miguel, so please plan accordingly if you’d like to join us for the Welcome Festivities on Tuesday around 5 PM.
Travel Note
The best way to get around San Miguel de Allende is on foot. Some of the most exciting discoveries in the town can be found along its winding walkways! Just be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes; cobbled, narrow streets can be tough on feet! If walking isn't an option, taxis and Ubers are available throughout the city at a low cost and most drivers speak English. The airport does have car rental options, but keep in mind that the streets in San Miguel are VERY narrow. Our recommendation is that if you are to stay in San Miguel for the entirety of your trip, a rental car is not necessary.
Travel Note
Please make sure your passport is up to date! Some airlines require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates in order to board the plane.
