Things To Do
National Mall
We love walking the mall and seeing all the national monuments. There are multiple free museums on this strip and we highly recommend stopping in at the National Archives to see our nation's founding documents (we love to complete the experience by watching National Treasure when we return home). The provided address is to the National Place Parking Garage. We like to park here as it is conveniently located a few blocks away from the mall, right near the White House.
Great Falls Park
This park is one of our favorite low-key hiking spots. It boasts easy-to-walk trails and incredible views, especially during October. We loved it so much that Gabe proposed at this location!
Great Country Farms
This is a great, family-friendly pumpkin patch that is perfect for the October outing. It also has a nice brewery to enjoy while taking in the fall views.
Mount Vernon
As history nerds, we would be remiss if we did not recommend one of our favorite historical spots: Mount Vernon. Home to our first President, George Washington, this is a great spot to dive into our nation's early history.
