Question
Where is everything taking place?
Answer
The ceremony will begin at 2:30 PM at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 101 Oakcrest Manor Dr NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. The cocktail hour and reception will begin at 5:30 PM at Old Farm Winery at Hartland, located at 23583 Fleetwood Rd, Aldie, VA 20105.
Question
What can I expect during the ceremony?
Answer
St. John the Apostle is a Roman Catholic Church, and our ceremony will be a full Liturgy with Matrimonial Rites. There is parking available at the site. You are welcome to sit anywhere in the church that is not marked off for the wedding party. All guests are encouraged to participate in the Communion Procession. If you have not been baptized in the Catholic faith, we ask you to cross your arms over your chest, and the Eucaristic Ministers will be happy to offer you a blessing. You are also welcome to remain in your seat for this portion of the mass. If you are Catholic (Latin or otherwise) or Orthodox in good standing with the faith, you may receive Communion. All are welcome in this place, and we look forward to sharing this celebration together.

Will shuttle services be available for hotel guests?
Answer
For those staying at Home2 Suites by Hilton - Chantilly Dulles Airport, one shuttle will leave the hotel at 5 PM to transport guests to the wedding reception. The shuttle will be available at 11 PM to escort guests back to the hotel at the end of the night. For guests staying at Embassy Suites by Hilton - Dulles North Loudoun, we recommend Uber transportation services. Unfortunately, transportation will not be available at either hotel for those attending the wedding ceremony at St. John the Apostle. We recommend Uber for those choosing to attend the ceremony.

How do I RSVP?
Answer
Click on the RSVP tab at the top right of our website. Enter your name or the name of a guest in your party. The names of you and those in your party will appear - simply hit "will attend" or "will not attend" for each guest to let us know your plans. If you have a plus one, we ask that you provide their first and last names.

Can I bring a guest?
Answer
Our wedding is RSVP only. Anyone with "guest" following their name on their invitation is welcome to bring a plus one.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
We encourage smart-casual/semi-formal attire. Cocktail hour will be outdoors so dress for comfort. Service members are welcome to wear their dress uniform.

Where should I stay?
Answer
We have a block of rooms reserved at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Chantilly Dulles Airport in Chantilly, VA and at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles North Loudon in Dulles, VA. Ask for the Alfes Wedding when booking or use the links and information located in the "travel" tab at the top of this page.

Where can I park?
Answer
For those attending the ceremony, there is a parking lot available at the church. There is parking located at the reception venue. Please follow the signs when pulling into the venue.

Will there be an open bar?
Answer
Wine, beer, soda, and water will be provided at no cost to guests. There will be a cash bar available for cocktails during the reception.
