FAQs

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are black-tie affairs. Formal, floor length dresses and black tuxedos/black suits with black ties are required. While the cocktail hour and reception are located in a large tent with a brick floor, the ceremony will be held on grass, so please mind your shoe selection(s).

Question

How's the weather?

Answer

May weather in Asheville varies between highs in the upper '70s/low '80s and lows in the upper '50s/low '60s, with rain possible. Heaters are not permitted, so please consider wearing layers if you're sensitive to temperature changes throughout the evening.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love all the kids in our lives and those of our loved ones, to allow all wedding guests (including parents) a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we respectfully ask that no children attend the ceremony and reception.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to our venue's capacity, there is no room for a plus-one unless indicated on your invitation.

Question

Where do I park for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There is a free parking lot located directly below the venue. Proceed through the Biltmore Estate gatehouse and follow signs for Parking Lot A. A ramp and stairway connect the parking lot to the venue. You will have free entry to the Biltmore Estate beginning approximately 1 hour before the wedding. We strongly recommend booking a rental car; rideshare services (e.g., Uber and Lyft) in Asheville are limited and are not always permitted to enter the estate. Please observe posted speed limits while driving on the Estate; wildlife crossings are common. Also, note that hotels on the Biltmore Estate are NOT within walking distance to the wedding venue. Please allow 20-30 minutes' travel time by car.

Question

Can we tour the Biltmore Estate on your wedding day?

Answer

As noted above, you will have free entry to the Biltmore Estate beginning approximately 1 hour before the wedding. However, if you would like to see the rest of the Estate, we highly recommend buying a ticket and exploring outside of the wedding events. The Biltmore Estate features the largest home in the United States and 8,000 acres of beautiful grounds. See our “Things to Do” page for our favorite spots. Please enjoy your visit!

Question

Are Ubers and Lyfts available?

Answer

Uber and Lyft has not been available to come on and off the Biltmore Estate. We do not recommend using them as travel. Please use Asheville Taxi at https://www.avltaxi.com. You will need to book a reservation for your taxi service at least 24 hours prior to wedding day. They cannot accommodate rides day of.

Question

Can we enter the Biltmore Mansion if we stay at any Estate hotels?

Answer

Staying "on-property" grants you access to the Biltmore Estate grounds, restaurants, and stores. However, access to the Biltmore Mansion is by separate ticket only. Should you so choose, staying on-property is a magical way to experience America's castle.

Question

Do I have to pay to enter the Estate for the wedding?

Answer

Wedding guests are permitted on property (without purchasing tickets) for the ceremony and reception. As noted above, free entry to the Estate through the gatehouse begins 1 hour before the ceremony.

Question

When are the Bride and Groom departing the reception?

Answer

The reception will last until midnight and, as the clock strikes twelve o'clock, wedding festivities will conclude with a special fireworks display above the Mansion to celebrate the Bride and Groom. Abby and Zane will depart shortly thereafter.
