As many of you know, Abby's older brother, Michael, has special needs. An avid sports fan, Michael has participated in the Special Olympics since he was very young and it has has been such a huge part of the Gorman family since days in Massachusetts. From track meets to soccer games, Michael is incredibly competitive and loves to rack up those medals. Special Olympics gives him the place to shine doing what he loves to do. We are so fortunate that this program is available to our family, and want to make sure that we do our part to continue to make it so for others as well. This organization is so much more than medals and sports, it allows us to celebrate those who are different and make them feel valued for who they are. Please note “Trinity Combine – Ryan & Abby Cranford Wedding” in your Message The Trinity Combine is a 10 Event Decathlon style athletic event created to benefit the work of Trinity Community Ministries in downtown Atlanta. Ryan and many of our friends serve on the Combine Board organizing the event and has competed every year since it’s inception. Over 6 years the Trinity Combine has raised close to $1M for homeless veteran and addiction recovery in Atlanta. Trinity Community Ministries is a rehabilitation program in Atlanta, GA that helps homeless men, many of whom have served our country, reclaim their lives through mentorship and leadership. Through this year long program of hard work and commitment, Trinity takes broken men and returns them to their families, employed, and with leadership skills to make them mentors in their community. Please Note ”Christopher League Donation – Ryan & Abby Cranford Wedding” in your Message The NYO Sports program out of Chastain Park serves to foster the growth and development of young athletes in the Atlanta area, with over 5,000 youth participants each year. Ryan has coached NYO 12 year old baseball for 6 years, and we consider the park an extension of our friends and family. The Christopher League is NYO’s sports program created for special needs athletes – hosting a baseball league each spring for these players to compete, learn, and enjoy the sport. Special needs athletics is a cause close to Ryan and Abby, and we have enjoyed volunteering as organizers and “buddies” for these gifted athletes.
